this is parabolic,first Christ is the comsuming fire,tormented means "sadden".

A body would be comsumed in fire.

There is no "day and night" once we are dead.

Where it says "for" ever and ever is translated wrong it should read "to" ever and ever.

This is talking about the end of everything.

If you die without Christ you will simply die, to be in Christ is to live eternally with him.

My parents attempted to instill some things I always knew in my gut are not right and true.

And, I don't mean religious things either.

There are parts of a human being that no other person can touch because they belong to God.

You can try to read anything you want into the scripture and can try to soothe your guilt, but it is very obvious your interpretation is crap.

"Christ is the all consuming fire" and "tormented" means saddened. Wow you must be an Obama speech writer.

Once you are dead, there is no day or night, but God will resurrect you to new bodies (in hell or in the New Heavens or New Earth) for eternity.

Jesus tought ETERNAL seperation for those who ignore or refuse the free guift of eternal life in the presence of God.
To deny this you are spreading false teaching and doing some souls a disservice by sugar coating their eventual eternal condition.
