Hmm was reading a book a while ago about the megalithic yard and its use at Stonehenge and elsewehere.
Using a simple string and wooden frame costruct, and sighting Venus over a 40 year cycle of 5x8 years the guys who made a landscape of interconnected stone circles were able to be extremely accurate in their measurements.
The book was written by a professional land surveyor in Britain who stumbled on the mathematical precision.
