Sunday's partial solar eclipse is only the start
The sun, the moon and the planet Venus will be staging shows during the next two weeks with three astronomical events in the springtime sky.
The first will be a rare type of partial solar eclipse on Sunday, followed in the days afterward by a partial lunar eclipse and the rare sight of Venus crossing the face of the sun in what astronomers call a transit.

It can't be from 1476, it's on the wrong side of the sun. Maybe from the far-side event.

The latest SDO composite shows a small Coronal Hole at mid-disk center, just below 1484. I think we may see some coronal hole effects and/or a large flare from 1484 in a few days.

AR1482 & 1484 are near mid-disk and, though quiet so far, they appear to be persistently strengthening. Also, a magnificent prominence in the southwest can be seen dancing and fibrillating to some energetic magneto-music. Check out the latest GONG H-Alpha movie here:
