Nice job, Geo! I bet you get a great view of Jupiter tonight. I no longer have a scope or even binoculars, but I was amazed to see the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye 2 nights ago. It's the farthest thing visible to the unaided eyeball. The skies here at my mountaintop compound in Tennessee are unbelievably dark and clear. Better than Colorado even!

I am in a city with over 1 million people, but I get good shots of nebulaes galaxies and planets just fine. But I wish I lived in a smaller city.

Partial eclipse, Melbourne Australia 14/11/2012
Hi everyone, thought I might share some pictures that I had taken this morning of the eclipse, I am down south of Australia hence the partial perspective, the photos were taken between 7.00am – 8.30am.
I used an inexpensive camera with a welding filter covering the lens I was quite surprised with the results, Enjoy.

For about a year. I have a Coronado pst but my webcams don't like that scope too much lol. I would love to share the images of that with you guys but later on when I get a better webcam.

Is that Sol trolling on YT?

Must be a joke - You can't possibly be into Solar,own packages to create Solar movies and not know that Flares over-expose the SDO instrument...shirly!?

Anyone in the UK - Midlands to Scotland if the Skies clear you may have a chance of seeing some Auroae [link to helios.swpc.noaa.gov] the Red line you see on that image is the line of sight/viewing.

This is certainly the least I can do to contribute to the thread, long time student of all you guys .Thank-you all for your knowledge, and wow what a learning curve it is.

I am always too south or not out in the plains to see anything either. It has always been a dream of mine to see the northern lights but I sure don't want to see them while connected to a Carrington, rofl
