I think that is a full halo CME (very small one of course) either erupting far north or south considering our plane of view on ISWA. Although, I'm no expert

That's alot of activity in South America...and consistently in the 4 range. Ecuador and Mexico do have some volcanic activity going on....but WOW....the coast on up through Alaska is trembling.

With its remote location and dependence on the uninterrupted flow of supplies from the lower 48 states, the Governor of Alaska has made disaster readiness a hallmark of his administration.
Gov. Sean Parnell worries a major earthquake or volcanic eruption could leave the state’s 720,000 residents stranded and cut off from food and supply lines. His answer: Build giant warehouses full of emergency food and supplies, just in case.

For some in the lower 48, it may seem like an extreme step. But Parnell says this is just Alaska.

“We have a different motivation to do this, because help is a long ways away,” said John Madden, Alaska’s emergency management director.
The state plans two food stockpiles in or near Fairbanks and Anchorage, two cities that also have military bases.

Scientists say a fault-line running across Alaska could cause tsunamis of the same magnitude as the Japanese disaster of March last year.

Nerd, I haven't thought about that. With all of the earth changes going on these days, I honestly didn't think of it. Are you thinking in terms of the NMF going off? Could the event extend that far North? Certainly something to think about.

mate, all i can say is that fracking is BAD!
we know bugger all about the ground beneath us except that it has goodies that we want....

i think it is important that people remember that we are sitting on a crust...anything that weakens that crust.. (i.e. Fracking, drilling, mining, melting ice sheets etc) can/could cause continental rebound, or glacial isostatic adjustment....at the moment we appear (i dont know the truth yet) to have glacial melt we havent seen for many years...we have EQ's popping off around the northern rim...things are acting weird...

remember that most of NAmerica was covered in approx. 3kms of ice during the last glacial maximum...i believe that unprecedented Arctic melt, may relieve some of the 'pressure' that northern plates are under...placing more stress on areas to the south of the plate....fracking is just helping to weaken the thin, easily broke slate/shale, that is sometimes melding some plates together.....

expect more EQ's along the southern edges of northern plates,.,.,,
