What's your favorite part? Mine...

Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. And after they have reigned they will rest."

Yeah I finally just bought the whole book, haven't had time to read it much yet.

Got side tracked in discussions about wet her or not paul was an apostle and looking for proof in the scriptures that he was an apostle as far as everyone else in scripture is concerned.

It was enough to convince me anyways, guess its ultimately a personal journey.

I'll get back into it all soon enough, just got to finish up at being lazy first I guess :-)

The apocalypse of john is the one that sent alarm flags up, but it was like it was an after taste thing.

Upon first reading it seemed to say one thing but it wasn't till pondering its meaning later did it seem to say something totally different, know what I mean?

The apocalyps of peter I think was the original writing that influenced dante's inferno, jmo

Re: Thoughtful Discussion of the Gospel of Thomas
You're welcome. There's a beautiful foundation for the Christian faith that holds both sexes as equal. Where the church focused on the death of Christ, the "gnostics" focused on the life and teachings. There are glimpses here and there, but we were truly gifted when the Nag Hammadi was found. Many mainstream Christians veer toward this without even knowing why... and we shouldn't lump them together, the life/love focused Christians, with the judgmental bunch who think we're sinners all and will roast while they laugh.

Re: Thoughtful Discussion of the Gospel of Thomas
i love the way it talks about the kingdom of heaven (the world of infinite possibilities)

i love the way it says you must come to know who you are. then you will be known.

the gospel of Thomas has opened my mind to the new age.

the new age is the kingdom of heaven. its almost ready for those who understand it.

i see why this gospel was hated by the early church...its very enlightening, as is the nag hammadi library.

I have a feeling the Gnostic version of Jesus is the more historically accurate one. The Constantine version was a political construction, and they had some of these gnostic texts banned. Ha.. Typical government trying to suppress stuff.

It also leads credence to jesus traveling the silk road in his youth, as his messages seem to be similar to others from other places.
My Interesting Karma messages:

- "You are an idiot. This post proves it."
-"GLP MEMBERS BEWARE!!! THIS IS A GOVERNMENT SHILL."
- Most
moranic one given to me: When you type ".." you need to put three dots instead of two.

Agreed, we've been corrupted from our true nature. Church never "felt" right, too much demominating, distorting, twisting all to confirm the supremacy of male, hatred of the feminine... The gnositic version makes more sense to me and focuses on love, not death, divison and judgment. And there's wisdom everywhere, the message carried forward veiled. But it's there for those with "ears to hear and eyes to see". Peace, love and blessings for all. :)

The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive. When you are in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"

I like that one a lot, from my occult viewpoint it says quite a bit. He was a Gnostic Essene and obviously initiated into the mysteries, probably including Egyptian.

"they asked what they have been bound with, and how they might properly release themselves. And they came to know themselves, who they are, or rather, where they are now, and what is the place in which they will rest from their senselessness, arriving at knowledge. These Christ will transfer to the heights, since they have renounced foolishness (and have) advanced to knowledge. And those who have knowledge ... "

'Whence do you come, slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?' The soul answered and said, 'What binds me has been slain, and what surrounds me has been overcome, and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died. In a [world] I was released from a world, [and] in a type from a heavenly type, and (from) the fetter of oblivion which is transient. From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.'

I'm going to reread the New Testament and subsitute instances of "The Holy Spirit" with Sophia. It's all there. I just can't lay it out in words yet, lol... Gives whole new meaning to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, don't you think? Denying the wisdom from within?

Re: Thoughtful Discussion of the Gospel of Thomas
And haven't we? We've spent a life time thinking we're corrupt, dead inside... and yet it's not us, not the earth, it's the people who walk upon it with hate and not love. They create a world we're forced to live in, pretending one thing is another. I remember as a child these brief whispers to see it for what it is, not a voice, just a feeling. And when I shone too bright, the world attacked me. So I hid inside it, waiting and watching, an incorruptable soul in a corrupt world. Feel like I'm waiting for it to grow...

From GoT:

(20) The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us what the kingdom of heaven is like."
He said to them, "It is like a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a shelter for birds of the sky."

I was thinking about the Gospel of Thomas earlier this afternoon. I have a piece of paper taped to the wall by the door with two of my favorite verses from the Gospel of Thomas

2) Jesus said, "Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All."

113) His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?"
Jesus said, "It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying 'here it is' or 'there it is.' Rather, the kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it

Re: Thoughtful Discussion of the Gospel of Thomas
The Kingdom Of God is already at work on earth, but mankind has been so programmed into believing they are waiting for it, and they have to go to church to have their ears tickled by pastors. This is what it means to be lukewarm christians, never finding your true self, the true child of God you are inside. This is also what denying the Holy Spirit means.

The "Akashic Record" in our dna? From the sayings of jesus:

Jesus said, "When the outer has become as the inner, and the lower as the upper, then will this world find peace."
Nathaniel asked him, "When you have left the mortal plane, how will we know the Parents?" Jesus said, "The Parents are within you. Learn yourself, and you will know me and my Parents, so that where we are, you can be also. You are the sons of the Eloheim. Should the son not be like his Father? You are the daughters of the Eloheim. Should the daughter not be like her Mother? Be careful that you do not pollute your birthright."

Yes, we wake, we awaken others and we emmanate it out and it spreads like fire.

105. Jesus said, "Whoever knows the father and the mother will be called the child of a whore."

106. Jesus said, "When you make the two into one, you will become children of Adam, and when you say, 'Mountain, move from here!' it will move."

107. Jesus said, "The (Father's) kingdom is like a shepherd who had a hundred sheep. One of them, the largest, went astray. He left the ninety-nine and looked for the one until he found it. After he had toiled, he said to the sheep, 'I love you more than the ninety-nine.'"

108. Jesus said, "Whoever drinks from my mouth will become like me; I myself shall become that person, and the hidden things will be revealed to him."

miserable is the body that depends on another body and even more miserable is the soul that depends upon these two

and

42. Jesus said, "Be passersby."

43. His disciples said to him, "Who are you to say these things to us?"

"You don't understand who I am from what I say to you.

Rather, you have become like the Judeans, for they love the tree but hate its fruit, or they love the fruit but hate the tree."

all in all it is a a wonderful gospel

Jesus said, "If the flesh came into being because of spirit, that is a marvel, but if spirit came into being because of the body, that is a marvel of marvels.

Yet I marvel at how this great wealth has come to dwell in this poverty."

Jesus said, "Do not fret, from morning to evening and from evening to morning, [about your food--what you're going to eat, or about your clothing--] what you are going to wear. [You're much better than the lilies, which neither card nor spin.

As for you, when you have no garment, what will you put on? Who might add to your stature? That very one will give you your garment.]"

Jesus said, "Whoever has come to know the world has discovered a carcass, and whoever has discovered a carcass, of that person the world is not worthy."
