Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1388145 Also how long after smoking weed did you feel these certain benefits? And any thing else you can tell me that will keep me motivated to stay clean. I have to drop some bad habits to progress in my life, and smoking weed is one of them. I've been smoking weed for 4 almost every day. I notice a difference already just after a day of not smoking and I can't wait to see how a feel in a month...5 months...1 year ...ect ..ect. Only benefit I've noticed is I have and remember dreams again, everything else has been negative. Productivity, thinking, laziness, all of it didn't work as well when I stopped. This may seem counter intuitive to everything you hear, I don't know but I know for me I was far more productive when I smoked. My brain went into overdrive on being able to focus and I didn't have anywhere near as many "i'll do it later" moments. |

After reading some of the posts I have also noticed it has become rather difficult to sleep, never had that problem. I know this seems completely backwards but my memory has also gone to shit, counted 3 times today i got up to get something and by the time I got to where it was I forgot what I was getting. Again, both of these started recently, never had either of those issues while smoking. Honestly I think as soon as I get a job I'm going to start back up. |

Thats just the brain misfiring synapses as the THC has slowed them down.. apparently. If you study high, take the test high, right? Few times I've quit, I'm fine for 2 nights of sleep, then 4-5 of insomnia followed by wickedly lucid dreams. Dreams so lucid you're not sure its a dream. It's worth smoking for a bit just to quit for that ;) |

Quoting: Orisos Haven't smoked since due to some legal trouble. It sucks. I notice that life isn't as fun and music isn't as good. At least when I was high it was an adventure to go to Arby's. hey april 19th, my birthday dude! ive got 28 years of smokin weed under my belt, 15 years of every day smoking. ive felt for a while that i want to quit but then the sun comes out, i pick up my guitar and it all goes out the window. what can i tell ya, im only human! |

My dream state is a lot better and obviously i have more motivation to do my exercise routine, although i was still able to work out when i was stoned, able to drive, able to work etc. But like Bill Hicks said, being stoned made me realize most of those things just weren't worth it hehe. On the downside, i am probably not as quirky and odd when talking to people, i suppose i have put aside the jester in me somewhat. I did most of the other drugs too, grew up during the rave Xtc scene, so i broadened the vistas on all fronts. But drugs are a young persons game, and you have to stay well on top of it all else you will succumb to the evil of inevitability of the life that drugs can bring. |

Yes i agree, i really do miss having a smoke under the worshipful guidance of our father, the sun. But for me, making my life easier was partly due to quitting, so far as money is concerned. Weed, or skunk is far to strong these days, or most of it. And the cost is going up like everything else. Ultimately, i like to have confidence that i have enough stamina in able to run if needed, i also do quiet a lot of soldering with heavy weights on my back. Getting ready for the shit hitting the overhead fan i guess. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 28899888 United States 02/02/2013 06:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to smoke every day. There would be months at a time when I was never not high. After coming down off that it was like exiting dream land and entering reality. After that long, you kind of forget what not being high feels like. Pros of quitting for good tho, less paranoid about cops...thats like the only thing I can think of. Been taking CBD (the other major chemical in weed) drops instead for the past couple months. Clear head, improved focus, and motivation, reduced anxiety, and reduced pain in my back. See, the problem with most street weed, and even most medical weed, is the lack of CBD. CBD is responsible for most medical effects in weed. Weed with high CBD is a much more enjoyable high, much more balanced. |

I'm 30 male, started smoking pot when I was 15 stopped when I was 20....5 years stoned everyday. God has completely healed me from the effects of pot....my mind is sharp....my life is 100% better. After a year I began to regain my dignity. 10 years later I look back and see that giving up pot was the second best descision of my life. The first best descision was inviting Jesus into my heart. Best of luck OP. I am with you, but after looking so hard for so long I did not find the evidence on how One contradicts the other. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33476597 Spain 02/02/2013 07:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Smoked from the age of 16 till i was 27 daily, stopped had crazy dreams for about three weeks then started to feel fresh and sharp. I got a degree in engineering met an amazing woman and have never looked back. I wouldn't change what i did as i wouldn't be where i am today but it definitely held me back with regards to achieving anything. Some people can function no problem on it but if you are starting to question its effect on you i might be worth trying life without it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33504775 You are the first how makes sense here. If you are HERE to achieve, --try it both ways. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33502498 Brazil 02/02/2013 07:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I smoke weed everyday for the last 2 years. I am a 32-year old female, I have my own small business and have been travelling for the last 3 months. Weed does nothing but good to me. Now cigarettes...these are being really hard to stop, I really want to! I feel pleasure when I smoke but I am really feeling horrible afterwards, I can feel now is my deadline. I managed to cut down from 20 to 2 a day, but it´s not easy for me! |
