I have found one positive note. The more adipose tissue you have the healthier you are to fight off things like this. Gives you a little more stamina to weather it out. I'm a health nut and fitness nut as well so this has given me the excuse to start building some fat on my bones. I used to weigh 210lbs when I owned a bar way back when and now I'm 135lbs so I need to add some back. So I just made some toll house cookies. Yummmmm. They can't get anywhere with it because of the mutation rate is so bad. And the virus keeps morphing to,where the incubation period keeps getting longer. I had to rush my dad to the er for a cut finger, about a month ago. It was busy but they took us into triage and did the normal question answer thing and then placed us back in the waiting room and told us we had to wait til a room opened up. Now in this time that we are waiting for an open room, in walks this girl and guy. He is mexican and she is his interrupter. Can't quite catch what's being said but he was not looking so well. They take them back to triage and then immediately take him away to a room. So I thought ok..opportunity to see the infectious controls in progress. I see the triage nurse some back to the triage room with no patient, so the mexican was taken somewhere. Then an elderly woman...throwing up comes into lobby of er and she's taken to triage that had not been wiped down at all I mean. not the equipment, not the chairs..nothing. This woman is throwing up in triage and they have her take a bucket bag and return here to er waiting room as well. Still they did not wipe this triage room down. I've seen how things work at emergency rooms, and especially if they have an outbreak, hygiene will be the first casualty, because the janitors will probably have already checked out, anyway, and anybody who stays will be up to his ears in just trying to take care of sick people. Realistically, what can they even do for someone who is already sick, other than keep him comfortable and hydrated? I can do that at home. We've got a doctor and a nurse in our bug out group, anyway, so I don't see much need to take anybody into a petri dish. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

But perhaps most challenging to the mainstream assumption that Ebola can only be spread through physical contact with a person who is showing symptoms of infection is the following explanation by two national experts on infectious disease transmission, both professors in the School of Public Health, Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, at the University of Illinois at Chicago (footnotes omitted): We believe there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles both near and at a distance from infected patients, which means that healthcare workers should be wearing respirators, not facemasks. [Aerosols are liquids or small particles suspended in air. An example is sea spray: seawater suspended in air bubbles, created by the force of the surf mixing water with air.] The important points are that virus-laden bodily fluids may be aerosolized and inhaled while a person is in proximity to an infectious person and that a wide range of particle sizes can be inhaled and deposited throughout the respiratory tract. That it is aerosolized is readily-available information, but they're using the medical definition of "airborne" to downplay the danger, from it being aerosolized, to the masses. The way they present it, you can only get it by having an infected person sneeze in your mouth, and that simply ain't true. Thanks for the other link, btw. I care. I just don't think anything is going to happen until Parliament gets back on the 14th, and I'm tired of speculating based on statements. I'm always wrong, and that gets old, so I'm just gonna hold my excitement for times when they actually accomplish something. I think things have definitely changed, and all these things we want will get done, but it still takes time.
