Re: Baltic Dry Index....COLLAPSING
None of you know what the hell you're talking about. The BDI should have collapsed a few years back, but was being pushed back up by china's demand for raw materials for their developing infrastructure.

They have now completed their purchases, and are also having major problems of their own, so now you know what's going to happen next!

BDI = 26 major global shipping companies which is also a britis/uk indicator. Very reliable, and can not be manipulated like the other markets because all shipping is paid well in advance of actual shipping.

Learn a thing: NOTHING happens while the BDI is over 900 points.

Only if it drops bellow 900 points you may start to be concerned. Otherwise, shut up and go to sleep.

Hey guys, check this out:

The mark of the beast is everywhere...

The multi-year bottom of the Baltic Dry Index during this recession was on December 5, 2008, at 663 points.

Onde day before, on December 4, it closed at 666 points.

On December 8, 2008, it rebounded to 671 points, and never went lower than 666 again...

It was under 666 just for ONE DAY, and just 3 points.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8684292

It's just a number the only thing special is that it falls between 665 and 667.

Re: Baltic Dry Index....COLLAPSING
What people don't get, is that unemployment is not rising.
Not rising at all.
The only reason they can't get a job is because of the new unofficial "rules" on gaining employment.
Made up by the sadistic evil psychopath control freaks.

They used the financial crisis as an excuse to do this to bring in these unofficial secretive "rules" on who can and can not work.
Its a part of the NWO a larger plan moving toward the chip to buy and sell.

But as anyone with half a brain would know, they are very very unintelligent these psychos.
Only gaining their powers from sucking major ass.

And what they have tried to do will turn around and smack them in the face very soon.
And they can not see it, that they are actually the "ones" being weeded out chuckle

OP sees this as early signs of a "disruptions".
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1468385

A lower Baltic Dry Index (BDI) indicates:

There is less consumer demand so ship owners get fewer full cargoes of goods to deliver.

This makes fewer ship owners able to afford the insurance on both their ships and their cargoes.

Lesser loaded ships that are fewer in number make transoceanic deliveries.

Less goods are transported in fewer railcars to the nearest railhub.

Fewer trucks deliver less goods across country to grocery stores and other consumer retail outlets.

Products are re-stocked on shelves with less frequency.

Stores run out of products more quickly and withgreater frequency.

Eventually (SOON) fewer and fewer ship owners can stay in business, fewer and fewer railway companies can stay in business to move goods from point A to point B, and fewer and fewer trucking lines can stay in business to deliver products across country to point of sale retail outlets.

There are disruptions in the supply line to the public.

The Baltic Dry Index has nothing to do with shipping consumer goods. It is about shipping raw materials like iron ore, lumber, grains, etc.

They are raw materials that are shipped to manufacturers for processing into building materials mainly except for things like grains, and coal.

To put it simply, they are commodities in dry bulk, and not pre packeged consumer products.

Re: Baltic Dry Index....COLLAPSING
I am seeing strong shipments of chemical products here in ISO containers shipped overseas.

Many say we dont produce anything here anymore...not true..we are still a leader in chemical manufacturing and shipments. These chemicals are mixed with the dry bulk raw materials to create finished products.

There was some slowing of these activities in the fall of 2011 but activity has picked up again after the holidays, stronger than its been in quite a while,my 2 cents as I only see part of the puzzle up close and personal, however I have found that chemical shipments are a strong leading economic indicator in my years involved in the industry.

China pulled the typical deficit spending on hopes and dreams FDR tactic to "stimulate" their economy, purely Keynesian.

All their expansion is on the back of their labor force, the communist government and more importantly ruling oligarchy behind that government could care less about providing infrastructure for growth, it's more like busy work and a way to store up raw materials when and if they need it later on.

Why do you think they are encouraging their people to buy and hold silver and gold? That is easy storage for later on when the government oligarchs need it. Trusting any government owned and operated warehousing system would result in some amount of theft and pilfering, but the hard working people can be trusted to keep it in safe keeping.

Baltic Dry Index is the measure of shipping activity i believe for both ships and trains-for sure ships

pretty much all the ports from Vancouver BC down to San Deigo are experiencing massive loss of shipping/loading unloading activity

and rail shipping is down

I think there one port that is doing very well but the rest pffft
