US Congress Passes Authoritarian Anti-protest Law Bill H.R. 347
US Congress passes authoritarian anti-protest law Bill H.R. 347

A bill passed Monday in the US House of Representatives and Thursday in the Senate would make it a felony—a serious criminal offense punishable by lengthy terms of incarceration—to participate in many forms of protest associated with the Occupy Wall Street protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the “anti-Occupy” law, but its implications are far broader.

The bill—H.R. 347, or the “Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011”—was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate, while only Ron Paul and two other Republicans voted against the bill in the House of Representatives (the bill passed 388-3). Not a single Democratic politician voted against the bill.

UPDATE:
Only days after clearing Congress, US President Barack Obama signed his name to H.R. 347 on Thursday, officially making it a federal offense to cause a disturbance at certain political events - essentially criminalizing protest in the States.

R.I.P. 1st Amendment

It was nice having you for a couple of centuries. You will be missed. Your death had been expected after the death of the nation of your birth in 2008.

"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Ultimately what this will do is essentially cancel any idea of a peaceful protest and create violent riots. Watch and see.....

The maxim of John F. Kennedy rings true, “those who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable”.

O please all this is, is a bunch of words written on some paper. It means squat. If americans really want to protest they will protest. They wouldnt dare to arrest thousands of people. It would create a revolution. You people know the might of the american people when we decide to do something, they cant stop us. They can only try.

Cicero Comments On Today’s Politics
In the history of the Roman Empire no other speaker surpassed Marcus Tullius Cicero, 115-53 BC. His writings on politics, philosophy, other topics, still influence Western thought today. As an example, read his comments about a nation’s betrayal from within, remembering that this was spoken before the birth of Christ. He said,

"A nation can survive its fools, even the ambitious, but it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly, but the traitor moves against those within the gate freely. The traitor speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their arguments. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero.
