The one about the woman having her garden cut down by local town code enforcer.....Does not make any sense. If she was following all town codes. Why would they do this.

Most cities won't allow you to build any self-reliant dwellings. You must have a water supply, you must have utilities connected. If you don't, they won't allow you to build anything. Even if you built your own nuclear reactor and water well. It's pretty ridiculous. Lately they've even been frowning upon septic tanks, so you have to pay the thousands to millions of dollars to connect to a sewer line. Pretty much if these bureaucrats aren't removed, America is dead.

Who knows, but I won't side with the inspectors on this. They are too stupid to do the job they're doing and they have no clue what to look for, so they just slap on whatever they feel like to anyone just to legitimize their position. People think these code enforcement and inspectors are some highly educated folks, the truth of the matter is, they're as bad as the TSA agents at the airport.

A late-night trip to town hall with a set of heavy duty hedge loppers would probably be in order.

Here in NB where I live property taxes on highly coveted land has shot up from 150-200% in one year. My sister owns a home on a lake and her and her neighbors had their taxes jump that amount and more.

Stop telling every about your preps folks. The only people who need to know are you and your close friends and family you want to know. Anybody else will be a liability after TSHTF and the government already thinks it owns you and everything you have.

If that proves wrong they look for some other reason to justify official misconduct, thievery and thuggish behavior.

. . . i suspect all this sort of thing falls under zoning laws and city ordinances, and thatis why some people live in the crowned neighborhoods, because of the strict laws etc, so people that donot understand zoning should learn about it so they donot get caught in an unhappy situation (for them) but which is a happy situation for those that like zoning/zoned neighborhoods in crowded cities/neighborhoods.

When zoning first started it had to be voted in, so i donot know how it is working now, so if it has become oppression, instead of governing, it should be taken up with city hall, and everyone wouldhave to go, not just one person, who is being hurt by the government oppression/persecution etc.

When you plant things in zoned neighborhoods, plants have to be so many feet from the pavement, borderlines, streets, and only so tall (sometimes), and only some plants, and odors, and bugs can be an issue, and on and on. Zoning is stringent and a lot of people/tax payers like it that way.

Yes, this is a free Country, and you can spread and swing your arms out as far as you want, or until the tips of your fingers knock the nose off someone’s face.

It's a shame it has come to the point that you need a gun to raise a garden. If you are a farmer, it's even worse. Most of the drones in the air right now are watching farmers. Any infraction, no matter how minor brings the feds, in force, to shut down the farmer that may have inadvertantly used the wrong chemical, or maybe too much of it. The EPA has become the gestapo. It has been said many times, by many people, but it is true, the first person to shoot down a drone with a hunting rifle will be a national hero! It's like the feds want to see most of the people starve to death.

They certainly were the wrong flowers, probably because they were edible! Self sufficiency is now a crime. Bet those officers will never remove real overgrown weeds!

Key to this is 'guerrilla gardening'. Figure out which 'weeds' in your area are edible. Many are, and will have far higher nutritional and medicinal values than the hybrid/gmo/climate finicky garden plants most try to raise.

There is still plenty of information available (but who knows for how long?) regarding what's in your region, what is edible and even recipes to start trying. Start with your state agricultural dept. web site... Bullzip (free) works a treat for grabbing the info, btw. Then start checking the names of the plants you know or recognize. Search terms like "your state, plant, edible" or "your state wild forage" will usually get you some good results too.

You may have to get used to different preparation methods and flavors, but it will be worth it!
Do it while you still can!

Once you figure it out, be quiet about it and maybe they won't agent orange every vacant lot in town either.
