Many times the biggest dictatorship we have to deal with is our own local government. Some people just want to control everything they can and they influence their local government to do it. We need freedom oriented people to serve on city councils and zoning boards.

Sounds like b.s, but nope its real, my neighbor out here in phoenix had police come by and literally trash her garden, told her gardens are prohibited.

I hope she's suing their ass's off.

It mostly has to do with money. If you produce your own electricity, then the power company doesn't make anything. If you have your own septic system in the city, then the sewer plant loses out.

There was a valley West Virginia that produced their own FREE electricity via a turbine by a river (30+ years ago). The local utility company was not happy as they were losing out on revenue so the gov came in and blew up the turbine forcing the valley to connect to the grid.

What is it that makes people roll over like SHEEP and take it? It would not only have been replaced but a huge law suit with enormous winnings would have been won. And if the judge was an ass, then you keep it up, but put the people who block the justice on the lists of those you will see publically destroyed and get PI collectively hired and get some real dirt on them, and you also phone their homes, and let their familes, mothers, wives, children know, their neighbors, their communities know what ASS's they are.

So, this would in the end have a happy ending, plus set a precedence for all future generations.

If not, then the reason why the bad things keep getting worse is because people are not doing the right thing when they happen.

Your own community. There's a small group of people in your community that benefits from this and they push this nonsense upon you with no common sense whatsoever. This is why they push for cityhood so much even though it doesn't benefit the people living in the area other than a select few. I mean honestly, how many of you even bothered going into a city council meeting? Probably none of you, and this is why so much bullshit like this happens because no one objects (since no one is there to object) when they pass new laws for the community.

Just today in our local Herald newspaper, I was shocked to see that San Antonio, Texas has lightened the backyard gardeners rules. I had to read it 3 times!

It said that people can now have up to 5 chickens/livestock in their backyards. Up to 3 can be chickens and 2 others can be cow, goat or other livestock. No more than 5 without a special application.
However they can have up to 10 rabbits.
Gardens can now be in the backyard or even in the front yards so long as the height of the plants do not block moving traffic views and cause motorists to not be able to see around corners and such.

This really freaked me out!
I live in a small town just north of San Antonio and I am hoping our town will adopt the guidelines as well, we often do adopt their rules as it makes things run smoother.

I have chickens now (am grandfathered in) but I have 15 or so and by current laws they have to have 4 sq. feet per bird and they must be 75 feet away from any building lived in by humans.

I would gladly let some of my chickens go if I could get 2 goats for milk and cheese.

In these days of Big brother clamping down it is nice to read that down here giving the people some freedom is a nice move.

I looked all over the internet for a copy of the story to link to but can't find the paper online! It's a small local newspaper.

With all the "eyes in the sky", drones, etc. it will be difficult to hide something like a garden or solar panels. I don't know how often they fly over to update their photos, but I'd bet that it'll be a lot more frequently now that they have all of our homes GPS'ed.

Like a herd of wild horses, we "smell something on the wind", and it won't take much to spook us into flight or fight mode. And they know it!

I think the BIG trick will be figuring out a way to "hide in plain sight". I KNOW that there are lots of "brainiacs" here at GLP, now's your chance to help your fellow man (and woman) and win our undying gratitude! We need to come up with a way to "landscape" our yards/property and fix our homes so that the gov't, police, neighbors, and roaming bands of city-thugs just give us a cursory glance and keep on going, nothing to see here.
