BREAKING - Annan says 'Iran OK with Assad Stepping Down'!! Assad Agrees to form Transition Government!!

NATO was clear.... Assad is not to choose the next leader. The next Syrian government will be comprised of candidates that expressed interest in Moscow and Tokyo. I think this story was broken early, and is rumor. Appears to have too many flaws in it already.

Kudos to Annan, he's trying hard. Expect talks to collapse in the next days as always. This doom unfortunately is unavoidable, Syrian population is very diverse, lots of different religions living peaceful with each other for years. You all know the outcome if the Brotherhood gets in control.

Assad isn't going to barter for a transitional government.

You're talking about a Shiite Muslim with ties to Iran, Hezbollah, and Afghanistan. He's not going to surrender.

Have you all forgotten so soon that in that "useless" constitution that was drafted and ratified months ago with a majority of the popular vote, stated that Assad would step, and he agreed to that, Russia approved of this process from the beginning. This is what is happening right now.

Assad will be replaced with another pro eastern, Syrian nationalist leader. The rebels ultimately wont have much say, they were never a very popular group from the beginning. Many Syrians wanted reforms, wanted the right to run for office, wanted stability, and did not want to have their nation destroyed by NATO or the rebels.

If the rebels refuse to participate, it will only make them look even more illegitimate, and distance themselves from the vast majority of the Syrian population that wanted democratic reforms, not destruction.

Well, they could run out of ammo, supplies. There's a reason the only place the rebels can maintain any foothold is in the border towns.

Since NATO isn't there to bomb the Syrian military, the rebels really cannot hold any ground for very long before the Security Forces shell them, then move in with their armor to mop up.

and that may very well happen, all the defected officers and soldiers know if they surrender they are dead either way, ask yourself if you knew either way you were going to die, wouldn't you rather go out fighting too?

Unfortunately this will not be good enough for the US Evil Shadow Government/International Bankers/etc..... They need to be able to install their own Puppet Government of Traitors. It is the way of all invading money grubbers who want to control the world's wealth and make Iran their cotton picking slaves. You'd hope after a decade of war with countries that posed no threat to the U.S., with hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, dead, etc would teach even the most thick-headed a lesson, but nope, they still want more!! First off the US goes to war where the International Bankers tell them to do it. First in Iraq because he dared to mention trading oil for anything other than USD. Iran's central Banks are not affiliated with the FED/IMF system (this is what this entire BS is all about). Therefore they need to be brought in line. So the US military will be used to attack Iran due to the Banker's wishes for ultimate control unless a US Puppet Government is installed. If a US Puppet Government is not installed they will commit another False Flag sometime in October - December time frame. We already have our next Puppet President for the next term which is Romney and what perfect time to have it while everyone is distracted with all the BS election coverage.

I always appreciate your work and the links you provide. But after listening to Assad as recently as 2 days ago. I do not believe he is willing to step down. He believes that the opposition are terrorist backed by the West, I can not see him handing power over to the opposition. Especially when he is winning against the rebels.

Most of the defectors are conscripts who just flee the country, they don't stick around and fight.
