Here is why O is ahead in the "polls"
One of the most amazing — and significant — statistics of this election season has gone almost completely unnoticed:

Only 9% of sampled households gave an answer to pollsters in 2012:

It has become increasingly difficult to contact potential respondents and to persuade them to participate. The percentage of households in a sample that are successfully interviewed – the response rate – has fallen dramatically. At Pew Research, the response rate of a typical telephone survey was 36% in 1997 and is just 9% today.

The general decline in response rates is evident across nearly all types of surveys, in the United States and abroad. At the same time, greater effort and expense are required to achieve even the diminished response rates of today. These challenges have led many to question whether surveys are still providing accurate and unbiased information.

This has been true for some time now.

Most right leaning people, just dont answer, very few right leaning people will ever partake in a poll.

The polls are being skewed so that when Romney wins (by a significant margin too), the dems will scream a foul, and will usher in the UN to claim election fraud.

They've never called me in my 50+ years to ask my opinion. Besides, it's difficult to call someone who is at work during the day instead of lounging around on my ass watching Oprah, yakking it up on my obamaphone while eating lobster and filet mignon purchased with my food stamps.

THIS and

Soros' spainish vote counting company needs the American public to think the race is close so Soros can trow the vote to Obama.

Or

If Romney wins it can't be in a landslide. The elite don't want a mandate to overturn Obama ledgislation.

The polls are factual. Rasmussen was the most accurate polling organization in 2008 and has them one point apart in Ohio.

This time in history Reagan trailed Carter by 9 points.

Who won that election? Not Carter.

Oblabla is ahead in the polls because the polls are rigged to keep the story interesting. Who would stay tuned to hear over and over that Mitt is going to win by a land-slide?

I am trending that way. Gallup used to be pretty reliable but they have been threatened by this administration, Axlerod, so I don't know about them now. Hope they stay honest.

Most of the others oversample Democrats so badly it's ridiculous.

Re: Here is why O is ahead in the "polls"
Perhaps O is ahead in the polls because when most Americans are faced with the prospect of voting for the Republican candidate, they feel they have no other choice but to vote for Obama?

A Crazy, wild-eyed idea, true, but it is a possibility.

Re: Here is why O is ahead in the "polls"
The article OP posted says it's hard for pollsters to make good polls since they can't find enough people to question who they are going to vote for.

You can't a good view on how the American people stand so far when you questioned just a small percentage of the population.

There is no relation between the article and Obama being ahead in the polls, unless someone could prove that white people suddenly stopped answering the pollsters and the blacks didn't or something.

If you ask me why Romney is behind: His presentation looks fake, you can see clearly it's all acted. The leaked video. Changing his opinion on certain subjects, for example: abortion.

Most people voting on Romney don't vote because of Romney, they vote Romney because they don't like Obama.

From the actual study - for people like the OP who are either too lazy to click through or dishonest to share accurate info:

A new study by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press finds that, despite declining response rates, telephone surveys that include landlines and cell phones and are weighted to match the demographic composition of the population continue to provide accurate data on most political, social and economic measures. This comports with the consistent record of accuracy achieved by major polls when it comes to estimating election outcomes, among other things.

My family has liberals/independents. Out of the liberals only one is going to the polls to vote for Mr. Obama. The others are staying home not because they like Romney they just lack enthusiasm this time around for Obama. It's the economy I think that has them down and the way the country is much more divided that disappoints them. The polls I am certain are nonsense or deliberately false.

One thing a poll can't tell us is the opinion of people who refuse to be polled.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
