It's a helicopter and they didn't take off from here today like they usually do, so I can only assume it's a gas/money thing. The parish is paying for all of this, not Texas Brine. I don't think they are being selective in what they show. One day one person wants a certain area shown, and if they don't show that they are accused of not doing it on purpose. The next day someone else wants a different area covered, and if they don't do that, same accusation. What is it you think they are hiding, or that you want to see? They have many vidoes and they all seem to show different angles. And once when there were all these "assumptions" over a 7 sec video, then the next day they made a full 2 minute video and people are still suspicious. jeeze. |

Otherwise...yes....;-) Hey don't knock Kenra Wilkinson(I think is her last name), she was the only real voice for the people in LA with the whole BP thing in the gulf. She was an advocate for the people there, and the Parish President at the time. |

truthpatriot User ID: 23964325 United States 10/11/2012 06:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The only sinkholes I've ever seen weren't filled with water? Can someone explain how the water isn't draining out of the area... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24917207 I'll try...give me aminute. Okay, sorry, was looking through videos. The sinkhole is filled with and staying full because ALL of that area is water. All that pretty green is what we call rush, hedge or swamp grass. It's a grass that grows in mucky muddy mushy mud or very shallow water. It is easily displaced because of shallow roots. What looks like dry land one day, make look like a pond, or another sinkhole, as has been implied, the next day. Most sink holes you see are dry because they happen on dry land. None of this is dry land and only accessible by airboat or building roads and foundations. If you watch through some of the videos, you will see that all the pads and roads are built up and you will see NO equipment off of these built up areas, and that's because it's all water. Add to that all the rain we have had and the sinkhole is acting like any other pond once full. When it rains a lot, it overflows and expands it's perimeters making it look bigger than it is. When the sinkhole happened, obviously water from the cavern cameup, but the swamp also flowed in to it. All of those trees are bald cypress trees that you normally see growing IN water. Also, that area that looks like a road, is not a road, but a pipeline corridor, which previsouly was only accessible by airboat. a road can NOT be built over a pipeline corridor. Here is assumptions parish youtube site with many many videos and you can look through them all and see what I mean. This is a man made cluster-fuck thousands of feet wide and hundreds of feet deep that could ultimately set most of the Northern Hemisphere on fire.. This catastrophic failure belongs to a corporation that is intent on deflecting responsibility & it has absolutely no compassion for the human factors at risk. Time to storm the offices of Texas Brine.. bring rope and have the receptionist pick which executive to dangle over the hole. They'd have a solution on the table in a matter of hours.. |

I think that when the videos are so abbreviated we're not getting a clear picture of how bad this is. I noticed in one of the videos today that what looks like a passthrough for a pipeline is almost completely gone into the sinkhole ... and then the video ended. I, personally, just start to orient myself as to which direction I'm facing ... I'm lousy with N-S-E-W directions (my brother got that gene) ... and the video ends. I think that the purpose of the videos is to show progression over time. If you're not looking at the same views for the same length of time, you can't really get an accurate picture from a distance. I watched a video a few days ago on youtube and my first thought was "that's not current". At the end he said it was from sometime in August. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. There's been such a huge difference between August and October. These videos are not just because Joe#1 or Joe#2 wants a quick look. This is gonna turn out to be historical documentation of a tragedy and it should be accurate. Thanks for listening. |

Welsh said that order is based on analysis by the Office of Conservation and expert consultants with the Office’s contracted agent, Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure, and came as a result of the latest information from sampling and testing of water, natural gas bubbling sites, the sinkhole area and the contents and structure of the failed cavern, along with previously developed data on conditions in and around the salt dome and Bayou Corne area. Welsh noted that, based on “fingerprint” analysis and other data, the source of the crude oil and natural gas that have been observed at the surface in the Bayou Corne area appears to be one or more naturally occurring oil and natural gas formations, and that the preponderance of scientific evidence indicates that the failure of the sidewall of the Texas Brine cavern provided a pathway up to the aquifer and the surface for oil and natural gas that had previously been confined thousands of feet below. “We have been driven by scientific data in all of our efforts to determine the cause of the natural gas found in the aquifer, the formation of the sinkhole, and the presence of crude oil found on the surface of the sinkhole,” Welsh said. As part of additional requirements for Texas Brine under the existing Declaration of Emergency and Directive, the company is required first and foremost to “undertake any and all necessary actions to assess for and abate threats to safety and the environment, including the natural gas in the aquifer.” In addition, Texas Brine is ordered to: Maintain stability of pressure in the failed cavern to prevent additional changes to the cavern or sinkhole due to pressure changes Install monitoring wells in the Bayou Corne community to monitor water quality and pressures, as well as elevation benchmarks within the community for subsidence monitoring Install pressure monitor at wellhead of the cavern re-entry well, designed to provide real-time data to parish emergency response agencies of any rapid pressure change Upgrade and expand seismic monitoring array to cover a wider area and include real-time data processing and interpretation of micro-seismic data, with seismic data reported in real-time to parish emergency response agencies Install continuous water level monitoring station at the sinkhole Collect and interpret geophysical data to determine the exact structure of the zone of failure and its impact on the surface and subsurface Welsh said that the Office of Conservation is also continuing the effort, in coordination with Shaw Environmental, to establish and expand the array of observation/vent wells to provide for removal of natural gas found in the aquifer near the Bayou Corne community. “Establishing how natural gas reached the aquifer and what caused the formation of the sinkhole was an important step in the process, but the work is not yet done. We will continue to hold Texas Brine accountable and ensure that this work is completed as quickly as possible, in a manner that protects their safety and the environment,” Welsh said. Patassa (OP) User ID: 21916852 United States 10/15/2012 05:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | October 15, 2012 Below is a summary of the directives that Texas Brine was ordered to perform in DNR’s Third Amendment to the Declaration of Emergency & Directives (issued on 10/11/2012)… On or before Tuesday, October 16, 2012: 1. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan for installing and monitoring additional Geoprobe wells to monitor water quality/ pressures in the Bayou Corne community; install & monitor permanent elevation benchmark at each Geoprobe well location by a professional licensed surveyor; 2. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan to install a continuous pressure monitor on Oxy Geismar #3- to monitor pressure and provide for telemetry monitoring of this pressure. This telemetry shall be reported in real time to the Assumption OEP , the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of Conservation to notify them if any rapid pressure changes that indicate changing conditions in the cavern; On or before Friday, October 19, 2012: 1. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan to install a permanent continuous water level monitoring station near the edge of the sinkhole. This station shall include a sensor and recording system for monitoring and recording the water levels and a staff gauge for visual observation of water elevation or depth. The data from this station shall be downloaded weekly and forwarded to Dept. of Conservation on a weekly basis; 2. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan to evaluate the alluvial aquifer water production, groundwater flow, sinkhole chlorides, TDS (Total Dissolved Salinity) and hydrocarbon migration and to mitigate adverse impacts to aquifer sustainability from use of Texas Brine Company LLC’s water wells; On or before Thursday, October 25, 2012: 1. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan to implement a seismic monitoring and notification system to allow for real time data processing and interpretation of micro-seismic data. The current array should be expanded as necessary to assess the current stability of the collapse zone. The seismic data shall be reported in real time to the Assumption OEP , the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of Conservation to notify them of sudden changes in the cavern or surrounding the sinkhole; 2. Texas Brine must begin installing the groundwater observation/vent well in the vicinity of the core-hole where the ten-feet of gas in the aquifer was observed; On or before Tuesday, November 13, 2012: 1. Texas Brine must provide Dept. of Conservation with a plan to collect, interpret, and report geophysical data that will determine the nature and extent of the collapse structure from the base of the original cavern to the ground surface. This geophysical data may include (but not is limited to) vertical seismic profiling, cross-hole seismic and tomography, and 3D seismic. |

She had proclaimed that she would fight BP to her dying breath... but then her husband's shrimp business closed, she lost her restaurant, and the family health was shot to pieces from the situation with the BP spill. Last thing I have found about her was something about an email where she said they were evacuating (after she had said she would not leave her people and her community).....
