Getting the carpet cleaned today and am exited to be rid of the stinky smoke smell, as well as the ancient dog piss that has been there forever.......funny thing is that the carpet is at least thirty plus years old and I think has never been cleaned. The cleaner is impressed with how nice it really is for being so old and says that all stains will probably come out! yeah

No smoking urges so far this morning but alas, the day is still young!

I am jelous of you that are going to get snowed on, here is Washington, left coast, we haven't had shit for snow. Sux cuz I put the insurance back on the full size 4x4 and prolly aint gonna even use the 4 wheel :(

You sound rock-solid, CHL. Is the guy cleaning your carpet, Stanley (do you guys have Stanley, the Carpet Cleaner, in your neck of the woods)? A nice, fresh and clean slate there.

Regarding the snow.....

Hawk - Big Day 5. Live at Five. Great the mood is better (ebb and flow). Firm believer that if we move a muscle we can change a thought for the better. Walk sounds nice. When you return to work Monday, you'll have a week. You've got this. Big congratulations.

Kentoni, toni tone!. I hear you on the cry and hit ride. Guarantee it will pass. Ups and downs, but nothing you can't handle on your road to complete and total freedom from the toxic sticks. As Grumps writes (and she's not really that Grumpy - just a good good soul with a tender heart) you've got a significant amount of days under your belt. That's worthy of great respect. Congratulations. Something to be proud of.

Old Ray Charles wrote a song about "crying time" and it's part of the process for all of us. His song was a great hit. So there it is; the cry and hit. Covered it and we're all ok for today. All is well.

You're not alone and I'm really glad you're here. A lot of people here to walk with you. I couldn't do it alone. I hope you do the same.

Again, congratulations.

Oh, and I forgot, can you imagine what a nasty, dry, brittle, piece of shit smoke that old cigarette you found would taste like, CHL?

You'd be better served lighting-up a tumble weed, or a rancid rigid sock found buried in a 90-year-old widower's basement, than sucking on that nasty-ass cigarette you found.

Glad we're free, brother, and no longer slaves.

That's how you roll, Big Poppa.

Here are the links to the quit books if you aint already read them. If you haven't I highly recommend that you do...

Damn, Fan, Tammy, you've got some serious smoke-free time going for you.

Big congratualtions on a big accomplishment.

As DF wrote, there's a wealth of information here. In addition, your choice of freedom, health, and self-love is being displayed every hour and day for your sig other. What a wonderful gift of love. He gets to see the power of your example. That said, when it is his time, it will be his time. We all have that moment of clarity daily. When we're ready to accept it, we're on our way.

Wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

Hope to see you (and, when it's his time, your sig other) again.

Best to you.

checking in. sorry i haven't been around much. very busy past few days.

glad to see everyone is still hanging in and doing well.

i am going thru some weird-ass detox or something. at first i thought i had a sinus infection, but it isn't acting all the way like that. i have been running fevers, no coughing, not really postnasal, but sinus headache like nobody's biznatch. also, more anxiety than usual and some depressive mood. started a mild AD and it's helping. i dunno... i still think this is part of the quitting smoking. body seems to be detoxing hardcore. hints of withdrawal going on here. can't really put my finger on it.

anyway, i think this is day 39 for me. losing count.

hope you guys are doing ok. my thoughts and prayers are for you all.

Sister, Salt.

Always good the see you.

Always here at the Quality Quit Diner.

Never any qualms, but plenty of hot apple pie and coffee.

You've got many friends here,

Riding the counter stools in squeaky clean circles.

We miss you when you're gone. But pull for you every day.

Almost 40 for you.

Number of Power.

Fasts in the desert. False kingdoms refused.

I, know a....ship at the ready

Rain for 40 Days. Rain for 40 Nights. Drip. Drip. Drippity-Drop.

Didn't it rain, children'? Didn't it pour?

Clean, Serene. Living the Dream.

In the smoke-free booth

at the Quality Quit Diner.

How is everyone doing? Breathing the air? Happy and content?

Dear Salt, you must see a doctor. Just to make us all happy eh? We worry about you.

BxMac, youse a poet does ya knowit? Such imagery... squeaky clean circles... truly distinctive outlook. I hope you write for a living Mac. It is a gift you have.

I believe we both have approximately the same amount of nicotine clean time, @40 days.

Just yesterday, my body indicated it was time for intense cleansing. So I am following my intuition and doing so.

Re: I QUIT SMOKING , YOU CAN TOO. I QUIT SEPT 27, 2012, SUPPORT EACH OTHER HERE
I could tell my body was ready - intuitively - by my symptoms. I was an herbalist for years, so I have an edge in knowing when I am out of balance.

My liver is congested - my symptoms were the indicators - and I have begun flushing my liver, kidneys, and opening the skin (you can try dry skin brushing - look up techniques on the web and hot salt baths).

If you research TCM - Traditional Chinese Medicine and research symptoms of a congested liver - or toxic liver - you may find clues to what is happening to your body.

The sinuses are the upper level of the respiratory system - the lungs the mid level and the liver, kidneys and intestines the lower level. Think of it as from the nasal passages and mouth to the anus there is about 29' of internal piping - or open pipes. Now that your body is no longer taking in the toxins, it will begin throwing off the toxic wastes through the Respiratory System, Kidneys, Skin, and Intestinal System. When the liver is congested, the blood that runs throughout the body and into the brain will be toxic and so will your thoughts and organs.

This is a natural process of self healing - called a "Healing Response" which you can also research on the web.

I think your intuition in your original post was right on - that you were going through a detox. Now the choice is - do I go to a MD, an Acupuncturist, a Traditional Chinese Practitioner or Herbalist in my area to assist with the detox process.

There is no right or wrong way - just follow your body's own clues to what it needs - it will tell you. We are made so magnificently by our Creator! We are made to heal.
