Good for you Abhie. Keep at it. Your last relapse can be your last relapse.

30 days is a big marker. Just live the day. They stack-up. Neither fast or slow, they just go. In between the fast and slow, the shadow part of days can be a bit dicey, but if you made it to 30 days you can make to 30 years and more.

Keep at it and best to you.

DAY 60. Over 1000 smokes and over 1000 Beers not consumed.

Love those monuments to freedom, Hawk. I'd stack your 60 days up against the Empire State Building anytime. A momument to a good man's freedom. 60 Days. Congratulations.

Where ya at, Salt? How's this smoke-free day treating you thus far?

Been re-reading Martin Buber's "I and Thou" on this end. Doesn't have the punch it once held for me. Funny, that. Even Emmet Fox and his take on Sermon on the Mount doesn't push the sway it once did (read it again over the weekend) and I don't know if that's good or bad. Maybe, it's neither good or bad. I feel confident I was one of only a few knuckleheads in an Atlantic City casino hotel with old dog-earred Emmet in me suitcase. That, I'm fairly certain of.

In any event, hope this finds you and yours well, sister.

i haven't been able to log on for over a week except for a few moments here and there. the DDOS attacks have prevented me access to my beloved GLP.

im ok. still battling a bit but i am under an enormous amount of stress these days.

hope you and all here are faring along.

Regarding Chip, I heard he had two twins from Brazil, a case of 100-year-old Scotch, and a carton of smokes (as well as a dozen Romeo and Juliet Cuban cigars - fresh off a fishing trawler from Havana) to go through last night.

As soon as he wakes-up (and can walk again), he'll be stopping-by.

I sure hope he can get Willie Nelson out of his living room. Old Willie is great to party with, but he never knows when to leave.

4 momths ago I kicked Joe Camel 99's ass to the curb and didn't look back.

I am STILL having emotional equalization trouble though....

If I look at it in terms of the tides, I am doing ok with two highs and two lows a day...lol

Stands to reason that if the earth and tides are effected by the moon, than so are we

Brother Chip! Read your earlier posts here this evening and can relate to all (have to go back generations in my family to find a full deck, being shackled to the smokes, sprinting instead of employing the pace of a marathon runner in the quit,..) and know, without a doubt, you're going to lay-out that washed-out Palooka Joe and his withered camels. Your turn.

Do it in your time and your way.

For me, never thought I had the stuff to quit. Thought I'd die a two-pack-a-day smoker. What a slow ignoble form of suicide. Fuck that. No doubt I'd still be smoking were it not for this thread. Some fine and honorable people here, Chip. They're going to be on the sidelines cheering you on knowing you will do this if you choose. This joint broke the isolation of my quit and it made all the difference. It was nice to know I wasn't alone and there were like-minded people making a similar choice. Same for you. Really glad you're here.
