abhie User ID: 37395810 India 04/03/2013 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Almost 30 days today since my last relapse. "Preserve your strength to appreciate the greater beauty of life." (I'm male, mid-40's, and live and work in India as a designer. Writing is a passion of mine, as is painting. My avatar represents my protagonist against the Illuminati -a female warrior.) :laotszungb: |
BxMac User ID: 18472095 United States 04/03/2013 11:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good for you Abhie. Keep at it. Your last relapse can be your last relapse. 30 days is a big marker. Just live the day. They stack-up. Neither fast or slow, they just go. In between the fast and slow, the shadow part of days can be a bit dicey, but if you made it to 30 days you can make to 30 years and more. Keep at it and best to you. |

BxMac User ID: 18472095 United States 04/04/2013 09:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Been re-reading Martin Buber's "I and Thou" on this end. Doesn't have the punch it once held for me. Funny, that. Even Emmet Fox and his take on Sermon on the Mount doesn't push the sway it once did (read it again over the weekend) and I don't know if that's good or bad. Maybe, it's neither good or bad. I feel confident I was one of only a few knuckleheads in an Atlantic City casino hotel with old dog-earred Emmet in me suitcase. That, I'm fairly certain of. In any event, hope this finds you and yours well, sister. |

As soon as he wakes-up (and can walk again), he'll be stopping-by. I sure hope he can get Willie Nelson out of his living room. Old Willie is great to party with, but he never knows when to leave. |

My love/hate relationship is about to end. I'm gonna spend a few quality moments with him today...and then kick his fucking ass!! Quoting: Chip That's the spirit Chip. Take a firm stand buddy. Have some cranberry juice on hand to sip on to ease the cravings and you will be fine. My heart is with you on this venture. You will be a great example and addition to this thread. You will influence more on this thread than you may think. Salt has been an inspiration here as well. DF :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. Choice is yours. |

I am STILL having emotional equalization trouble though.... If I look at it in terms of the tides, I am doing ok with two highs and two lows a day...lol Stands to reason that if the earth and tides are effected by the moon, than so are we Welcome to all quitters old and new if we can do it, then so can you!! |

Either way.... jsut quit. Well Hawko for 21 years I never even tried to "quit". I stopped 3 times because I began to hate it. Longest I went was 6 weeks. But I never declared "I quit"...so I started back up. 2nd time I wanted to see how much money I could save by rolling my own...but never had the time to roll them...that lasted a month. The last time was about a year ago. I got the flu or some shit and smoking hurt so I said fuggit and stopped. Started back up after I got well..like 2 weeks later. It's time though..I hate everything about it now. The smell, the "can't leave the house without a pack" bullshit....just all of it. It sucks. I'm nobodies bitch...sure as hell not the bitch of a little box of smokes. Determination is your friend. :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. Choice is yours. |

BxMac User ID: 18472095 United States 04/05/2013 10:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Brother Chip! Read your earlier posts here this evening and can relate to all (have to go back generations in my family to find a full deck, being shackled to the smokes, sprinting instead of employing the pace of a marathon runner in the quit,..) and know, without a doubt, you're going to lay-out that washed-out Palooka Joe and his withered camels. Your turn. Do it in your time and your way. For me, never thought I had the stuff to quit. Thought I'd die a two-pack-a-day smoker. What a slow ignoble form of suicide. Fuck that. No doubt I'd still be smoking were it not for this thread. Some fine and honorable people here, Chip. They're going to be on the sidelines cheering you on knowing you will do this if you choose. This joint broke the isolation of my quit and it made all the difference. It was nice to know I wasn't alone and there were like-minded people making a similar choice. Same for you. Really glad you're here. |
