Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
What are your thoughts :

I have been having dreams about my grandfather who died awhile back.

They are always set in different places but have the same theme - some sort of ritual where he brings family members one at a time in a room full of random objects and says we have to choose one item and then choose one family member (I don't know what he wants that person to do) .

And he is very serious - as if something of extreme importance will result in my choice.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
I am of the belief that people that have passed on find it easiest to "reach" us when we our conscious mind is not in control, such as during sleep. It sounds crazy if you aren't open to such ideas, but I have heard so many stories of people having dreams of dead friends and family. These dreams are usually different from regular dreams in that they see more "real" than a regular dream. You probably really are connecting with the energy/soul/spirit of your grandfather while you are sleeping.

Hi OM. After my mom died in 06 she came to me in a dream and took our
entire family on a roller coaster ride. This ride seemed all important and the stops were all over Canada. Never knew what to make of it. The places were wonderful and joyous.

A handmade owl head. I have it in real life too. He put his glasses on it every night before bed. I have it sitting in my room now with his glasses.

My adult daughter dreamed of Daddy that died 6 years ago multiple times.

Last time she was following him around and he told her in a serious tone that it was dangerous for her to follow him. She knew in the dream that he was dead. She misses him.

I just had dream recently of my deceased mother. It was so real, she was telling me she couldn't sleep because she knew I had 3 doctor's appointments. A week later, I had intestinal problems, this next week, it's a sinus infection. (I actually hadn't put this together until just a few minutes ago) I wonder if something else will happen?

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
I had a grandmother visit my dreams. I never knew why she was showing up. She just stood there and said nothing. She didn't move. Nothing else was in the dreams, just her standing and looking at me with her mouth closed.

It took me some serious meditation to find out what she was saying to me without talking.

As it happened, when I was only 16 and living with just her, she got mad at me for having a boy over and lying about it.

Her punishment was that she didn't speak to me for a year. I realized that I had never forgiven her for this. When I did finally forgive her I felt a great relief.

Perhaps something like that is happening to you?

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
Yes, they do.

My mom popped into a dream once, right after she died. I was still grieving. It was strange, like she stuck her face into my dream and said my name. When it startled me, she left.

I think it was her way of saying she's still around because I was so upset at her death. Like consoling me.

She, herself, when she was alive, use to get dreams of her dead dad. He came to her in one dream looking very sad and told her that her mom was about to die. Sure enough, the next day she got a phone call that her mom died.

So, yeah, I do believe the dead can use dreams to communicate.

Traveling is also a very common if not exclusive theme when my little Brother and Father are in my dreams.
They are the two closest that have died most recently.

But more than travel, there is always an 'official' or barricade of some kind
impeding our travel, or even blocking the ingress point of our destination.

The travel is often nearly always very rushed and frantic,
almost like we are trying to escape from somewhere.

I always wake up right before we either 'get in' or get caught.

Cool thread OM, maybe he wants you to chose something other than a (comfortable) object from your past? 1dunno1

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
had a dream about a great aunt that died, she was in my bedroom and in the dream i said she couldnt go in the lounge because i had guests, she was dead and would frighten them.lol.
She said she came to let me know she was going to help me sell this car i had(piece of junk in my yard lol).

in waking life i had no intentions of advertising the piece of junk car, was going to strip it for parts. So left me wondering how itd sell without advertising.

two weeks after the dream, a guy was hanging over the back gate and asking:
"dont want to sell that car do you?"

yay one for the great aunt she came through.

Yes. I finally got fed up and punched my mother out in a dream awhile after she was killed. Mother or not, it comes to a point where a person has had enough.
I also make a point of not dealing with the spirits of the dead, when I have the presence of mind, for they are gone and I know not where their destination lies or what can be done for them and only wish to avoid contact so as not to interact in a way that things from after they passed away can not be brought back into their life before they died.
