No photo ID with voter registration card. Quoting: Lahn River Runkle I had to show the voter card as well. Of course, we do have a hotly contended sheriff's race going on. I just saw a line being formed and so I joined and five minutes later I was casting my vote for Obama. No one told me I needed to register or nothing. Oh gosh I hope I don't get in trouble... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27151533 United States 11/06/2012 05:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes--in Delaware--I showed the registration card that you get mailed to you after you register--and I didn't mind a bit--I don't know the poll workers, and they don't know me--without that regitration card--if you are legitimately registered at the address you claimed was where you in fact lived, you got one--and if something to prove who you are, anyone could claim they were me and vopte--and then go to another polling place claiming to be someone else, and vote again, and so on. You have to have ID to apply for foodstamps, to cash a check, to use a bank credit or debit card, to buy alcohol--those who claim voting should require no ID seem to want to make fraud easier. If you want to be a fulll-rights citizen and vote, you must register before the election--if that is "too tedious": for you, togh shit--don't vote. |
Whitney User ID: 25945367 United States 11/06/2012 05:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Funniest story I read today was at the Daily Caller. DC poll workers were given a picture of Eric Holder so they could identify him because DC doesn't have a voter id law. During the primary James O'Keefe went to Holder's precinct, said he was Eric Holder and got a ballot. He didn't use it, just proved a point. ——————————————————- Love crystals? The virtue of courage is a prerequisite for the practice of all other virtues, because otherwise one is virtuous only when virtue has no cost. There are times when something needs to be done, and yet we know that if we step up and do this needful thing, we will pay a heavy personal price. -C.S. Lewis |

Quoting: Turtles Voice I went through one line to write down my name and address and sign a piece a paper and then another as a poll worker verified my information. Curious what other voters experienced today. I did in Upstate NY! They even matched my signature for verification! |

Quoting: Turtles Voice I went through one line to write down my name and address and sign a piece a paper and then another as a poll worker verified my information. Curious what other voters experienced today. Did I show my ID?? Well....... "The ID is the dark, inaccessible part of our personality, what little we know of it we have learned from our study of the Dreamwork and of the construction of neurotic symptoms, and most of that is of a negative character and can be described only as a contrast to the ego. We approach the id with analogies: we call it a chaos, a cauldron full of seething excitations.... It is filled with energy reaching it from the instincts, but it has no organization, produces no collective will, but only a striving to bring about the satisfaction of the instinctual needs subject to the observance of the pleasure principle." Um, I don't think anyone would be able to show their ID at the polling place. |
