What in the hell????? This is SERIOUS!!!! My heart goes out to all of the people in the area that can't get out!!!! MSM is talking about it, google Louisiana sinkhole CNN...there's probably others as well. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28109230 Officials discovered that one of Texas Brine's two wells was letting hydrogen sulfide gas escape, Texas Brine officials said Wednesday. After discovering the highly poisonous gas, the company informed the DNR Office of Conservation on Wednesday about its plan to seal the well, according to a letter by Commissioner of Conservation James Welsh. [link to www.examiner.com] There does not appear to have been an update this date on the H2S at the sinkhole . . . weren't they going to be doing something right after the holiday weekend? |

The solar activity and alignment also give me pause. And if you search the NASA website, all the information is there, you just have to put it together...I've been collecting it for the last couple of years (on my laptop that bit the dust). Anyhow, sorry to go offtopic! Let's keep a very close eye on the situation in Louisiana!!!!! "Don't look back, you're not going that way." "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28109230 Future of Cajun swamp people's human rights in question On Nov. 20 and 21, earthquakes and “long tremors” were recorded in the sinkhole area at Seismic Monitor 8, as reported by Deborah Dupré and then, by the seismologist heading the Itasca Consulting Group as the Principal Geophysicist, Dr. Will Pettit. [link to www.examiner.com] I don't believe this, so what now, are they saying a professional geologist doesn't know the difference between fluid and gas movement tremors, collapse tremors and drilling tremors? Get real I'm sure the local residents are not idiots. All of those would look different. I think they need the type of equipment they have in Iceland to measure what this sinkhole is doing. Vegetative debris and hydrocarbons came up from below the sinkhole. A few trees in the southwest corner did fall in how ever most of the debris came from below the sinkhole. Texas Brine removed all crews from the sinkhole and is checking the boom surrounding the area to make sure everything is in tact. [link to www.facebook.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 15456734 Australia 11/27/2012 08:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks OP, I've been trying to find out what the debris was from a few days back. So this is the organic matter that was on the land prior to being swalloiwed down. Comparing this to Lake Peigneur, which was slightly different, in that you had an established 'hole' or system of holes that were filled with the lake and the GoM water, the trees and barges and trucks popped up when the system became more stable, i.e. it had filled, and levelled out on the surface too. But the comparrison of equalisation still holds, as what ever has gone on down there, and I suspect it is from the bottom up, would suggest that a point of equalisation has occurred. That in mind, you can say that about the mid point of a hurricane too. :( Either that, or a current has formed. If it is shown to be tidal, and not surface tidal, but bottom up tidal, then there's you link to the deep water GoM. |
