Do people realize how much these book companies charge for books? Colleges charge students $200+ for books that are slightly altered every year so they can charge for a "new edition". Hopefully everything will be easily accessed online pretty soon for school without a company deciding to charge ridiculous amounts for it. |

I think the best way to encourage your children to read, is to yourselves read tales to them when they are little children. |

Behind all the fancy words is the fact that NWO cattle don't need a vocabulary of more than 600 words, and very basic maths. That's the price you pay when you sit their in silence and allow prayer and proper religious education to be taken out of the school system. This has ZERO to do with religion and prayer. If anything, those are a detriment to the educational system. You're reinforcing archaic forms of thinking by pushing religion. Atheism is the evolution of mankind in regard to philosophy and our spiritual outlook on the Universe. Atheism is just one particular way of viewing the universe which happened to gain predominance in modern civilization over the last few centuries. Until not that long ago, those who were very educated were mainly religious people. They were also the most educated. You don't have to "push religion" to acknowledge this. Don't forget: those who actually founded the new world civilization, the Pilgrim Fathers, were VERY religious people, and they were very well educated. |

With the 'grants'/BRIBES they were handing out, many cities including Danbury, CT took the bate, as the school board ( political wing of Democrats in power ) saw a way to hold down tax increases for education in their communities, while OTHER ones paid the bill ! Quoting: Eagle # 1 29216719 Once the fed had a stranglehold on the city, they became more and more involved in what was taught and HOW ! Like a drug pusher gives out free samples to initiate a new customer, THEN ups the ante. Of course the state was next to fall in line with interference .... new rules, new strategies IMPOSED, with politicians HAPPY to follow along. I know because I WAS PART of that change over, even to the point where an assistant principle told me to dumb down my Introduction to Physical Science class, so dumber students could fit in and NOT fail ! Fought it and they eventually forced me out with continuous hounding/threats and unfounded charges ! Eagle Hey Eagle we have something in common. Both of us have first hand knowledge of what and how it has taken place. I disagree on the early part of your analysis. The Fed was pretty limited in its incursions. Limited to Math/Science/Special Ed as I recall. From my perspective it has been mainly the States that have sanctioned the majority of this bullshit. Here in MI the State took control with the funds all paid to the State who then doled them out supposedly on a more equal basis (wealthy vs poorer) Districts. The State had already instituted a statewide Test which it would then use to control CURRCULUM. Since this time it has been all downhill with the patients in charge of the asylum. Thay are the only real truth left. ^THIS^ We are in Western North Carolina and since my son started 6th grade this year, he does not bring home any books for homework, only copies of pages. I asked him why and he says they don't have any books. This amazed me so when I went to my sons 6th grade "open house" and asked his teachers if I could look through any books she was using to teach my child, she acted offended that I would even question what he was taught and proudly said that they had moved beyond books in the classroom and were using a newly revised teaching method. When I asked her how, as a parent, we can know what our child is being taught this way, she said with a wink...."You'll just have to trust us." I SO wish I could afford to send my children to a private school or homeschool them myself but our state makes both impossible to afford! You cannot afford NOT to get your child out of public schools. Mine were in the public school system several decades ago, and it's the biggest mistake of my life. Far worse now. If I could live my life over, the one thing I would change would be to keep my kids out of the public school system! Still living with the damage! Same here. I consider it my biggest life mistake, should have homeschooled them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29475498 So they found a solution ! "The test, known as the Nation’s Report Card, also showed that California is doing worse than states spending less on education. So much for lack of money being a problem. Then there was the school-board meeting I attended where there was a complete computer presentation of a new method of teaching that is now being implemented in the schools. I had no idea what they were talking about. They explained classes would be reconfigured, curriculum content was being revised, teachers are being retrained on how to teach and what to teach, how every student would have a laptop, books were to be virtually phased out – but some new books would be created for this whole new education system. We were told it would take a couple of years to get everything in place, but by the time that happens, it would be in every school and every grade in California." So books and outdated teaching methods are being blamed. Are they sure a certain change of mentality in pupils and parents didn't play a part in it ? And pres. Obama, according to the article, seems to be mighty proud of this "accomplishment." [link to www.wnd.com] wellh, considering the Calif is host to the countries LARGEST illegal aliens -ie close to 3million as of 2006 - that's not counting all the pseudo legal residents that speak NO ENGLISH and now you know WHY Calif schools are sucking.
