Future Viewer User ID: 1344660 United States 12/13/2012 11:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A traffic stop in Plano ended unlike any you've ever heard about before. Quoting: Alien Disclosure Group It started when Hayden Carlo was pulled over for an expired registration sticker. Carlo says he's been struggling to support his wife and two small children. "You get paid, pay your bills, and there's your money. It's gone." He told the officer he had no excuse for the expired sticker. "I said 'there's no explanation for why I haven't done it, except I don't have the money.' I said 'it was either feed my kids or get my registration done." The officer wrote a citation and handed it to the 25-year-old. Carlo says when he took it, he could not believe what he saw. "I opened it up and there's a 100 dollar bill. I broke down in my car what else could I do." The officer never told anyone about the $100 gift. But Carlo's grandfather, Billy McIntire, was so moved by the kind gesture he wrote a letter to the department. Anonymous Coward User ID: 24061376 United States 12/13/2012 12:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well the ticket and the cost to register is probably more than $100. Why not let him go with no ticket and give him the $100? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8206693 The $100 would be used to get the registration, inspection, taxes paid, etc. Then, as is customary, you show up to court showing that the violation has been cured and the ticket will be dismissed. What the officer did was issue the ticket to essentially guarantee that he use the money to get his registration completed. Still a very nice gesture by the cop even if he issued the ticket. If he had let him go and just gave him $100, the guy would probably spend the money and not have any incentive to fix his registration problem. nice story. |

I drive what I can afford--PAID FOR in full. I wonder if he has concidered not being a debt slave by not buying things he cant afford? THEY both probably have the nice cars bought with credit they dont deserve. Quoting: doomsucker KUDOS to the pig though. I was about to agree with you until I watched the Video, He's not really 'Ballin' driving that Mazda 6 around! I give him credit for not wasting money on a gas-guzzling truck or SUV like everyone else in Texas. SO...the gas milage factor makes it ok to over extend your self?..GTFO! ffs PS, who the fuck said he was 'Ballin'?? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27229787 This one does stink i have to say... If you're minded to give him the $100 wouldn't you simply tell him to make sure he sorts out his reg and NOT issue the ticket? Some years ago, he started taking a bag in his cruiser's trunk on every shift. In there he has plush toys for kids, blankets, shirt, pants, underwear, socks and some other goodies we all take for granted. Apparently many, many kids have been made happy receiving a toy and blanket in an emergency situation. He's tough as nails, some say asshole about him. But for people in need, he's got his heart at the right place. |

If driving a 2006 Mazda 6 is "over-extending" oneself then I hate would hate to see what you would have him drive and trust the safety of his kids with. It's a modest, reliable car. My point is that if he was driving a $40K truck or Lexus and had a note on that-then I would be in agreement with you. |

There are more good out there than bad, and those that do good are the ones that do it from their heart and not for PR. That's why we don't hear about it. Here is to all those out there that have helped strangers from the kindness of their own hearts, and to those that have shown up and helped me when I have needed, then as strangers do went on their merry way, not expecting anything from it just helping a fellow human. Thank you the kindness in humankind. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8206693 They said the $100 was enough for the ticket and to renew both his wife's and his registrations...it was probably a $25 fine and $60-70 for two registrations...the cop still had to do his job and issue the citation. WTF? The court costs ALONE here is $60..
