One of the first posts, on Friday states that the school is still on lockdown... they aren't sure if Emilie is still in there or was rushed to the hospital, etc.

So.............

You aren't even sure of anything yet, the school is still on LOCKDOWN and you've already set up a facebook page, FUND.

listing all the bank account numbers to donate to. My God. The bodies are still warm!! Does no one else find this disturbing??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12164461

When I posted this I didn't know about the fund.... I was watching ONLY his acting/behavior.

Now this with the fund.... This ain't right.

In the video he talks about he has this "agency" to help him? Did I misunderstand him?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24068631

He's referring to agency as free will. We all have our own agency....

I believe the "FUND" was set up on Friday.

If you read the Facebook page, almost every post is.....

"If you need help donating...."

"Here's how to donate...."

"Thanks for the support! Paypal accepted!"

It's all about MONEY... oh yeah, and a few photos of her.

I just have a bad feeling about it.....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12164461

I'm sticking with...2 weeks till book deal, 3 months till "the senseless slaying of Emiley" on LifeTime network...and numerous appearances on: the Today Show, Good Morning America, the tonight show w/ Leno...etc....Sad really.

This is disgusting! And someone here was angry that I have question, but to exploit dead child is ok?!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6568391

You're spot on. And it is okay to ask for help if needed. There's a proper time and place... They're begging on the Facebook page, telling people to spread the link! Make it go Viral like Gangnam style!!!! Over and over and over begging, post after post. Put up the damn page for friends and family and be respectful... Fine.

The father should not be mentioning it on the center stage without the other families involved.

And the other person is right.... this guy is going to be everywhere. All the morning news, the View, books, People Magazine, etc. You can just tell.

And if one person questions it or raises an eyebrow, they're considered an evil monster... "How DARE you say anything!! He just lost his daughter!!!"

I never saw one tear from the mom or dad..... Susan Smith Syndrome.

I'm not in any way saying they're evil or had anything to do with it, but I think the social media attention craze and having CNN cameras right there along with the sweet smell of cash... has sadly taken center stage next to this father...

You are right...people react differently to tragic situations. I have heard of people laughing hysterically when they are grief stricken. We are all unique, not robots. What is wrong with our society today? To believe that this man is smiling because it is a "walk in the park" for him. I wish that people would try and see the good in people, instead of always looking for the worst. :(
 Quoting: katballoo

Not saying it's a walk in the park. I'm sure there is sadness, grief, etc. But to say alllll those things about your little girl, your first born, your little Emilie, and not choke up or shed one tear. I could never do that... not that soon. I know not everyone is the same, but there is a certain level of what's considered normal here....

Mentioning a Facebook Fund (making sure it got in there.) is not normal. I don't care how broke you are. It's too soon to even think about staging something like that without the group of other parents and to mention a fund. Period.

It's just creepy. If you can't see that and don't feel it, then I don't know what to tell you..........
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12164461

This was just set up for the Parker Family, not for any other victims. It was set up Friday. Here's a note written on Friday on the "Emilie Parker Fund" facebook page:

Friday.

We've had an update. The school is still on lock down, I assume pending investigations. Robbie and Alissa have very limited information. They haven't been able to see Emilie, and they do not know if she is still in the school or if she was one of the ones rushed to the hospital. We apologize for the misinformation that we gave you earlier. But we know still that sweet Emilie was a victim. We just don't know any detail about what exactly happened to her.
------------

As of yesterday, $12,000 has been donated to this family. It was posted in a newspaper article, not on the facebook site.

Here's another setting up a fund for the family...same facebook page:

Emilie attended a local Preschool in Utah called Wee Wonders. They are setting up donations at all of their locations in Tremonton, North Ogden and St. George that they will submit to the Emily Parker Fund. Emilie's former teacher is so sad for the loss of sweet Emilie and wanted us to share this.

Wee Wonders is setting up a foundation for the family of Emilie Parker. She was one of the victims of the shooting in Connecticut. Emilie was a student at Wee Wonders, and we would like to help in this time of need. We will start collecting on Monday, and every little bit will help. Thank you for all your support.

the agency is free will.

even in tragedy, a person does smile and remember happier moments - been there, done that.
 Quoting: Water Flower

For the sake of argument, let's say that you are correct. This one man, the father of Emilie Parker, is truly upset yet manages to smile.

That DOES NOT EXPLAIN ALL the other "grieving family members" who are NOT REALLY CRYING! Not a SINGLE ONE that I have seen. All I have seen are heads bent downward, faces turned upward, grimaces, and faces covered by hands. Not a SINGLE TEAR on ANY of the "grieving family members" faces.

So, even if we give this ONE GUY a pass, that DOES NOT EXPLAIN this eventwide phenomenon! WHAT ARE THE ODDS that NONE of them react with real tears?!

This is a THEATRICAL PRODUCTION, just like the Aurora shooting. That's the only thing that makes sense.

This poor child hasn't even been buried yet and it looks like they're already talking to an agent, gelling up the hair, pulling out the suit, trademarking Emilie Parker's name, collecting serious cash, and breaking free from the respectful pact that should be all the families united to branch out and BE THE FIRST person on the money buffet...

Lord have mercy if all the steak is gone by Monday!

They have first dibs on this global tragedy. Brilliantly disgusting.

NO TEARS!! NOT ONE -- FROM *ANY* of them! Just grimaces, sighs, and looking skyward or downward.

NO red, swollen noses; NO tear-stained cheeks; NO eyeglasses that need wiping off due to tears; NO makeup running because of tears; NO sniffling; NO noseblowing; NO bodies racked with sobs. NOTHING that you would normally see in grieving family members.

PLUS, *ALL* of them are J's or crypto J's. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!! In a community comprised of only 4.4% J's.

I posted an entire thread on this yesterday. THIS ENTIRE THING IS A THEATRICAL PRODUCTION! IT IS *NOT* REAL!!

Plus, WHO THE FUCK starts posting Facebook "tributes" and gives public press conferences THE DAY AFTER their CHILD died?! Answer is NOBODY except maybe a perverted attention whore (OR AN ACTOR in this PRODUCTION!).

Just as in the "Batman" shooting in Aurora, CO, we WILL eventually learn that these folks are actually ACTORS.

as a mother who's had to deal with our only child's serious illness, i found that my husband dealt with the grief differently. he held 'strong' while i wailed like a banshee. everyone is different. she's ok now, but during the process it was horrible for me. i tend to be more emotional.

i know another man who lost his daughter, but after his initial grief, he was ok. then again, he had a lawsuit out after her death so maybe the money felt as a way out of dealing with the pain of loss. his wife, otoh, was broken too.

my sil lost her son (35) tragically and she witnessed his death. she cried and cried much, but her ex was very composed. he is elderly, so i'm sure getting emotional wouldn't be good for his health. it doesn't matter how old your child is when they die. the pain is still the same.

everyone is different, but i find that the men handle it better in front of others.

Maybe I'm the alien for not being able to even compose a proper paragraph on camera talking about one or all of these people, let alone being the parent or medical examiner.... I would need a minute at least! I feel like I've cried more than them... Even the librarian lady in glasses was cold and WEIRD! No emotion... Almost like sociopaths....

Yes! The same one! The coroner was way too happy regarding the news he was sharing....

Let me tell you something... This is what I'LL do, someone else will react differently, but if a child of mine dies I'll die right after it. I'll not wait even 10 minutes. Why to live?!

You're on the wrong train op...
Too much emotions can lead to emotional numbing...pose and gestures all show a man totally shocked by what he has experienced...close to a nervous breackdown (there goes the picture remark...his mind is everywhere)...it ain't funny op, not at all...

Mr. Parker "sniffs" over and over. Why are his eyes not red? Why are his eyes not puffy/swollen? Why is there no handkerchief or Kleenex? Why is his nose not red? Why is there no snot running from his nose? (sorry to be graphic, but we ALL KNOW that this is what happens when someone is or has been crying)

Come to think of it, I have not seen ONE SINGLE "GRIEVING FAMILY MEMBER" with a Kleenex or hanky in hand.

That is FAKE as HELL!!!
