ANTIDEPRESSANTS - SSRI's - Worse Than Heroin Addiction
They are the most destructive drugs ever created.

The drug companies who make them know it.

The FDA knows it.

"There is no such thing as an antidepressant you can go on for more than a short period of time (a month) and come off of and still be what you were. "

Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor, Prozac, Cymbalta ...

The full stories of people and their doctors, who don't have a clue what they have unleashed on us all.

Go to this website, and the article is up on the main page.

there are several natural antidepressants without side effects... kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is probably one of the best

I've been on Zoloft for over a year and it has seriously changed my life for the better. They work, just not for everyone which is why you need to work with your doctor to find the right dosage and medicine for you. I think all the horror stories are from people who did not find relief from their particular drug and their actions were just the result of their mental illness.

I've also had to go a week without taking them, it was cold turkey and I had no problems with any withdrawal symptoms.

It is still an SRI, just shorter acting.

Cocaine is an SNDRI, for comparison, yet it lacks the side effects of SSRI's.

SSRI's are a horribly imbalanced treatment for depression, honestly it is more responsible to use cocaine (Freud would back me up on that one, LOL... as would the UN, more recently).

Yes they do occasionally work, but remember that SSRIs have been shown by scientific research to be no more effective than placebo.

Correct. No study proves a negative.

Look at the positive ones. Or don't if zoloft is working for you. thumbs

I took generic zoloft for three days, and then threw the pills into the toilet. Weirdest feeling ever, felt totally hollowed out, like I had no spiritual energy. I know I only took them for three days, but the feeling felt so awful to me that I'm never taking them again.

I don't believe your comment is credible, and I wonder if you have a connection to a health provider or pharmaceutical company. Do you? And if you had no problem going cold turkey, how long had you been taking Zoloft?

Finally, the real question is: Did you bother to read the Zoloft stories at the stories at the jimfreelance link?

Do you think you are helping the situation?

Was a Zoloft addict glad I'm off it now. Getting off it is really hard too! Have you read the side effects of these things. [link to www.webmd.com]
I had many of these side effects especially the nausea and anxiety. Why did I take it in the first place? Because a doctor told me to, to help with my depression. Well I still suffer from depression but I no longer have all the awful side effects that came with the medication. Also I thought I was going to completely lose my mind coming of the medication, it is very dangerous. In the end I just felt like a gunea pig or lab rat so I don't see docs anymore.

When I and all of my friends were having our babies in the late '90s and early 2000, their doctors put them all on prozac if they complained of the slightest emotional imbalance (which almost always occurs when a woman's body is adjusting postnatal). Every one of my friends is STILL taking this drug and those that have tried to get off have complained of suicidal thoughts and irrational tendancies so they go right back on. Something is just not right with a drug that makes you want to kill yourself when you stop taking it!

Paxil can cause withdrawls SNRI's are known to cause "discontinuation syndrome" muscle zaps etc.

Yep, and it goes away after a few weeks when you start feeling the benefit. I'm sure the doctor that prescribed it told you but maybe he was an idiot and didn't.

Seriously.

The long term effects of SSRI's aren't known.

They could be the most neuro-toxic drugs ever invented... we just don't know. They might cause brain adaptations that are unpredictable.

The antipsychotics are another example... of course, we know full well how bad they are for us.

I took prozac for a while, I'm not even sure if it did anything, and when I quit taking it nothing happened then either. The pharmacist told me it has such a long half life that it's not hard to get off of and I had no problem.

I took it for perimenopause issues.

Never did for me... or many others.

Doctors hand the stuff out like candy.

In my experience (Cipralex, Effexor, Pristique) they hand out roughly a three-week supply. How convenient.

They are peddlers. Nothing more. Doctors know jack shit about SSRI's. It would be better if they prescribed amphetamines for depression.

My parents forced me to take several (20+, no kidding) antidepressants and I didn't notice any side effects from them.

Although I shouldn't have been on them, I hated school because I realized from a young age that the system is broken and useless and not meant for truly intelligent people.

Got a question for you, since you brought that up...

Guess what most deaths from narcotic painkillers (Lortab, Percocet, Tylenol 4 etc.) are caused by in the USA?

I'll give you a hint... it ain't the narcotic killing them.

The problem is a lot of the people doing the shooting stuff are Schizophernic, aka "psychotic" most people don't know much about that, but when someone is "delusional" and its not a temporary situation caused by smoking tons of crack or excessive alcohol, and they were compelled by "outside forces" to harm people. It's often Schizophrenia related. I'm not saying all Schizophrenics are dangerous, and I don't know what the hall caused Columbine.. but the others are what I said, and you can get into a delusional state from types of bipolar if untreated. Again not ALL, just these people were off their rockers way before they harmed anyone and there were signs people just didn't see or do anything in time. They (recent shooters) would harm with knives or other things if they didn't have access to guns.
