That having an aspirin after eating cheese would kill you.
This, from an aunt I adored, so I believed it.
Turns out she was quite the boozer. Lol!!

Step on the Cement crack and break the devil's back (or dishes)it seemed that it was both.

Some kids were such "city mice" that they did not know that a Green pepper turns red by leaving them on the vine longer or that a Pickle was nothing but a cucumber that is placed in a barrel of spices and vinegar to ferment.

"When the Stock Market crashed, people were jumping out windows on Wall Street." -Absolutely false! It never happened, not one incident of anyone jumping out of a window to kill themselves when the market crashed. in fact the day of the crash, the suicide rate was down dramatically as people suddenly wanted to hang around and find out what happened.
(Interestingly, in the '87 crash, police were detailed to Wall street to"prevent people from jumping and injuring passing pedestrians. The fiction story is still believed to this day)

what was the most naive or ridiculous thing you believed as a child?

I'll go first

* If you collected the silver & gold wrappers from cigarette boxes, you could get a black baby (no offense intended. we just never seen black babies but we all had black dolls)
* If you smelt a dandelline, you would wet the bed
* If you blessed the chewing gum before you ate it, it was ok to scrape it off the ground

That a personified god who looks like a human magically impregnated a 12 year old girl. She gave birth to this god man who performed miracles and then we crucified him because his dad, god, sent him to earth in order to be tortured and murdered so he could die for our sins.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31557420

you wouldn't believe how popular that one is

get some revenge & go to mass just to take some money from the collection thingy!?!

also, a fairly good outlet for that is to turn up everyweek pretending you have turrets, are drunk & think your at a karaoke bar. :-)

This was during the time of Westerns dominating the TV and also Tarzan movies. I thought that the animals, horses, jungle animals, on the TV shows could see me sitting on the sofa watching the program. I was scared to move.

As a six year old, with white-blonde hair, I was, obviously, flat chested.

My sandy-haired sister, at sixteen, had a small, perky bust. My mother, with

dark brown hair, had a large, full bust.

So, I thought that a woman's chest grew as her hair got darker.

For that I am thankful. It was a necessary revealing with a point.

Continue to believe in the fables of men who use them to their favor or take a good sobering look at there purpose for doing so

Be as wise as Serpents who use false fables designed with a false hope built on lies and you get a close rendering of a child believing FAITHFULLY in a lie...

Faith of a child destroyed in the false delusions of so called high priests, vagabonds, whoremongers and the spawn of their father

This is called the "Thomas Effect" for Thomas only believed the Khrist was risen because he saw him with his own eyes but great is the Faith of the Saints who believe who have never seen me, my flock they know me by the WORD which is alive in them...

THE Faith of a child destroyed by and supported by the above councils of those who follow and worship the Beast that was, is not and yet is again...

Woe unto all who inhabit the earth for the Time is short and IT,that Serpent that was is filled with the uncontrolled rage of a spoiled and untrained child in RIGHTEOUSNESS...
