Ultimately the health care system could simply collapse. You might say that wealthy people alone will have healthcare, but I don't think that all the doctors hospitals and other facilities are going to be able to afford sitting around waiting for a rich person to get sick.

Yes, mostly right except for one key fact. Here in MA we've already have the healthcare exchanges and guess what. No one can afford them. The minimum required coverage is too expensive. To cover my family using the same insurance we had before would cost $2K a month.

I've been going around asking sole proprietors and small business owners how they handle insurance. There are two basic answers, either they have a spouse who is in a large enough company that still provides insurance or they simply go without and pay the fines (in theory).

The end result is this: Only the very rich and the very poor will have health insurance going forward. It's the kind of misery Marxists love. It allows them to dole out crumbs to their followers to maintain power.

4 years ago, I was having a discussion with my libtard twin brother over Obamacare. He was always dancing around it saying it will be for the best, blah, blah, no new taxes, blah, blah.

I told him that it was a huge step toward socialized/national health care by making private health care much more expensive. He dismissed it...

Those who don't purchase insurance, and don't qualify for Medicaid or subsidies, will be assessed a tax of $95 (or 1 percent of income, whichever is higher) in 2014. It increases to $325 (or 2 percent of income) in 2015, and $695 (or 2.5 percent of income) in 2016. About 4 million people, or 1.2 percent of the population, will wind up paying the tax rather than purchasing health insurance.

Here's how it goes down....

1. Companies don't insure individuals because it's too costly

2. Companies take the government fines, it's the cheaper way to go

3. Employees try to insure through private companies and find they can't afford it

4. Employees try to insure through government, $20,000 a family for the useless plan, more $ if you expect to get some coverage and even more money if you expect to be "insured"

5. Employees decline to get insured and pays the fines to the government


So what have we learned? The government has figured out a unique and fun way to get the poor and middle class to pay down the deficit! Only in America!

What do you do in a country where the people can't afford insurance? Do you penalize the insurance companies for charging too much - do you make insurance affordable for everyone? Nope - you fine the people who couldn't afford the overpriced, quasi-coverage insurance.

Makes sense to me. Don't punish the big insurance corporations for this mess, it is obviously the people that get sick. Why should insurance companies pay for sick people - the people weren't sick when they got the coverage - Everyone knows you can't get insurance with a per-existing condition.

The rich people are "buying" their own doctors - these doctors work for a limited number of families and make house calls. SO, all those nurses and doctors that work in hospitals will find, just like many other Americans, that their skills and career are no longer needed in their community. They will either become part of those serving the elite only or they will join the unemployment lines. Either way, hospitals will close and the regular guy will find that prayer and home remedies are the only form of medicinal care they will receive.
