I think you could make it all from scratch, if you wanted to. Just put the cookies and candy in at the last minute like you would nuts or other add-ins. If you try it, let me know how it works for you.

Flav, I've been thinking what you could use in place of the choc. raisins. There's a brand out that makes choc. covered pomegranet (sp?) and a couple of other things I can't think of right now. I wish I could think of the company name, But I really didn't pay to much attention to them beyond seeing them on the endcap. I'll check next time I go to the store.

TB - I'm so glad the baby shower went off without a hitch! I'm sure your son is looking forward to the new arrival!!!

Hi, Flav. How's it over your way? Did it warm up yet?

its getting warmer every day, but still getting chilly at night.

We went from the 80's the other day, to having a freeze last night. GGRRRHHHH!!! I wanna garden!

Believe it or not, my baby plants survived the 3 nights of cold. Covered them with upside down pots and then plastic over that.

After we saw the weather last night, we hustled into the city to Home Depot to get buckets for my raspberries. So far, so good!

My dad has the most beautiful raspberries and they live in upstate NY where its freezing all the time. They have a 3x10 patch and get tons of berries from it, so I think theyre cold hardy.

I have some and didnt cover them and they are fine, blueberries too.

I just covered them last night 'cause I just planted them the day before. I was afraid of too much shock.

My gram used to have a patch and when she got older, she split them between us and my uncle's family. We grew up eating fresh picked berries with milk and sugar! My little brother and I used to love it when gram babysat us!

Me, too. I want to plant some red currants, too, but I don't know how they'll do. Should be ok, if raspberries are. I LOVE currant jell.

Glad you guys plants made it through. Shouldn't be long now and you won't have to worry about them. Raspberries are real hardy. I don't mulch mine or do much of anything except trim old canes and dig out the new plants that spread all over, and they come back every year, faithful as ever.

Anyone heard from Old Guard? Been thinking about her a lot and worrying for her.

Nope. I sent her a pm awhile ago and I know she read it, but no answer. She logs on almost everyday, though. They're asking about her on Gabe's thread, too. Anyone heard from Tauranga? She's on, too, but didn't open my pm and I don't see her post.

Good to hear it was opened. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed that one little thing is just more than we can do right then.

I haven't heard from T. but have seen her on. If you're concentrating on a particular thread, it's easy to not notice another one, especially when they're far apart on the page.

We'll give them a break then.....for now.
