Hoo boy. Hope they're wrong about it lasting that long. Bet it's scary hearing those winds howling. It unnerving for a while, but really wears on you when it lasts a while.

Don't know how you can breathe with that big a temperature change in such short time. That would be real hard to handle.

Sudafed and staying inside as much as possible! If I go out in the cold wind, I get in trouble. Hubs will let the critters out in the morning and by dinnertime, it should be over. So....all good!

Yeah, that cold is bad enough, but when it changes so fast, it makes it even worse and harder to deal with.

Hope you stay in and hope your internet, phone, or electricity doesn't go out. Wouldn't want to get into trouble and have to drive for help in those winds!

Be safe. hugs

Yeah. Your mind probably gets used to it. Sometimes the body though, protests. Don't believe I'd ever get used to the huge temperature differences in such a short time. It would be like shopping on a 90 degree day and walking into a store that had the AC set on 50. Gasp.

Those temp swings are normal for winter in Fl. It makes for sore throats.

Yes daughter is happy, and son is happy too except for having to help move his two sisters.

He has his/hubbys Harley which they have been working on nonstop, painting, changing regular parts to shiny chrome, etc so when I reminded him of that he shut right up

We have been soooooo rainy here all week.

HAHA. Missed this earlier. If I haven't already shared it, will have to someday share how a key ring with wooden beads and a rug became my best friends for a couple years. LOL!

UGH. Breathing fine one minute, then suffocating. LOL.

It's so nice of your son to help the girls move. Not many would.

You're all going to miss them when they're gone. Maybe it's not all girls, but the ones I've known would be sorely missed. Something about going from total chaos and constant shrieking to blissful silence that would be hard to reconcile. HAHAHA.

Just love hearing about the guys working together on that motorcycle. How special is that! Awesome. 8)

Flava - we have an artichoke plant. It's been in a few years now. We get a couple dozen chokes from it each season. I like to pick them when they are small so the fuzzy choke isn't developed yet. It does take up some space but doesn't require much in the way of care.
 Quoting: Southern OR

A few years? Is it a perennial? Is it pretty? Hmmm.
 Quoting: Nine's

I think we have had it, actually them - hubs tells me it's two plants that have just grown so large you don't see the difference. I think we planted them 5 years ago. Started with the little starts in the 4" pots - man do they grow. Easy peasy though, almost no care required.

Funny, we always referred to our oldest as Hurricane Alyssa. She started dropping stuff as soon as she came in the door. Always had stuff everywhere and could never find what she was looking for. The youngest is better, but she doesn't close the kitchen cupboards after opening them. Some days I dream of a house with just hubs and I. I know I will miss them though.

Crazy weather around the country. It's been in the 80's here for the past 2 weeks. That's awful early for the warm temps. But the freight truck with our garage doors on it ships out of Nebraska. The last 3 weeks it has gotten stuck in Wyoming due to snow/ice/wind. Hard to explain weather delays to our customers when it's in the 80's here. lol

I was only counting the two girls mama.
actually both the boys are slobs in their rooms but pick up after themselves in the rest of the house.

OMG SO My tornado leaves everything open too. It drives me nuts. I bought a bread box for Jakes needles and medicines so I didn't have to see them on the counter and every morning when I get up the friggin box is open and I still see all the stuff!

I hate seeing all that crap on the counter, clear counters are a pet peeve of mine. I don't mind stuff that should be there, but I do mind key, glasses, lipstick and other assorted crap

Years ago we hung up a key holder. It's nothing fancy, just a chalkboard at the top and a series of hooks at the bottom. This is where we all hang our keys. It sure has made life easier. No keys on the counter and no looking for where we put them.

HAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

That would require someone putting something where it belongs. We had one too, sat there empty, the only keys on it were the ones to the shed. I left it at the old house when we moved, maybe the new people have put it to good use.

I just got my kids to stop leaving the keys in the car. They all throw them on my workbench in the garage, which I don't mind cause we are always playing musical cars, we have one to many at the moment, but all that is about to change, I will be getting rid of 3 of them. Its gonna feel like I died and went to heaven. I will be able to get in my car and leave without having to move someone elses.

We have parking issues as well, we live on a cul de sac and the folks in the circle have no on street parking so they park in front of our house. Seems the kids were always blocking our driveway. That's why the keyhooks came in handy, we could just grab the keys and move their cars.

I know when they are all gone I will miss them, but my son is the easiest to get along with, no mood swings. When he is annoyed he goes to his room. The girls tend to pick on everyone and everything when they are annoyed.

Plus, hes a mamas boy. Tonight I said to him, I bought two soap molds online and with shipping it came to 75 bucks, so for mothers day don't buy me something just kick in towards them. Then my husband piped up and said each of you can put in 25 and buy them for mom , and my son said "No, I want you to take 75 out of my paycheck this week and pay for your molds".

I told him when he's rollin in the dough I will be glad to take his money but right now if you want to kick in 25 that's the max I want you to spend.

He argued with me about it, but I shot him "the look" and he said ok, whatever you want.

"The look" works wonders. My youngest had a paper due in her writing class tonight. The topic was superheroes. She wrote about me. It brought tears to my eyes. It was about me going along and adopting the "stray kid" she brought home, but still laying down rules and kicking ass along the way.

See, they are not as dumb as they make themselves out to be!

I find they are stupid when it comes to chores. I don't know how to clean windows, etc.. but they are just playin us.

My son pulled that the other day when I told him to empty the dishwasher, which was always my daughters job, and he said I don't know where anything goes, so I said, oh, well take everything out of every cabinet and put it all wherever you want then you will know where it goes.

He sure did find where that pyrex went fast

We went to the Master Gardener Plant Sale today. We look forward to it every year. We bought 5 different types of tomatoes, mostly heirloom. Should be interesting to see how they turn out. One is called Carbon - it's a purple/black tomato. It's supposed to be sweet with low acid.

That sounds interesting SO. I have only ever had your basic red tomatos.

With all the rain we had last week I am surprised my garden hasn't swam away. It was so wet. I saw green beans sometime during the week in between rain, so I am anxious to get out there and see what is ready to pick.

I need to restock seeds for next year so these first ones are gonna be next years plants.

We have tried saving seeds, but seem to have better luck with volunteer plants. I seem to kills the poor little seeds that we try to sprout early. We do ok with stuff we can seed right into the ground though.

Fresh green beans are the best! I love going out and picking them right before dinner.
