I was quoting Matthew 7:6 - but I also do not consider them dog or swine. I view their actions as similar, and that is what I believe Jesus was talking about in that particular passage. You can either waste your time with those who will never open their heart to God, or you can focus on those who have been humbled enough to want to repent, and to serve Him.

I'm curious - why are you concerned with the saving of flesh, when it is the soul that matters most?

I do believe that our Father is available and ever present to those who seek Him, but to those who reject Him, He has been turned away from the door to their very hearts. To those unfortunate souls, He is unwanted, though He will be waiting for them to return to Him until the end of time. We each must invite Him in to the hospitality of our spirit, so that He may work through us, and that is a personal experience that is special to each individual - based on their relationship with Him.

Regarding the flesh and the soul - I do believe that the soul is more important than the flesh, but that is only my perception. I view the flesh as a tool of learning and experience, but it is the soul that is where that knowledge and wisdom accumulates, not the flesh. It is true that the greatest sacrifice one can make is laying their life down for another, but that sacrifice is made with the knowledge that while your body will cease to live, your soul will live on. Just my thoughts...

I've never heard anyone describe that response from an atheist - that is really interesting. My own thought is that while we all have different perceptions and differing interpretations of God and reality, there is still only one Truth, and it is undeniable. All will be revealed soon enough, and all of our misunderstandings, misconceptions, and misinterpretations about our Father and His Kingdom will be set straight.

I think my biggest hurdle and flaw is a lack of patience. I am not patient enough to take the time and really listen to someone who disagrees with me so starkly. Part of me feels self-conscious and defensive because they are blaspheming what I believe and know to be the Truth, but I let that get the best of me and my patience disappears...
