Everything is cancelled up here in the Northern Texas Panhandle, and I do mean everything. I'm usually not one to get excited about snow storms, but this one is a doozy, I've got six feet drifts in front of my house and it's a total whiteout right now, I'd post pics, but all you can see in them is white until the snow stops blowing.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL IN THIS, unless you have an Abrhams Tank, you're not going to make it through the drifts!?!?!

I've only seen a handfull of storms this bad up here in my life, this is a deadly storm....

Everything is shut down here, too. We haven't gotten as much snow, but we have small drifts all over the yard. Visibility is about 1/4 mile. TxDOT has shut down i-27 between Lubbock and Amarillo, per Foxtalk 950am.

I40 is closed across the entire Texas Panhandle, travelers are stranded, hotels are full, night employees are stranded at their jobs, TXDOT says they can't even begin clearing roads until whiteout conditions end

So glad to see the accumulation of moisture in the area and hope everyone's warm and safe. Cotton prices are down today after showing strength the last few weeks so maybe related. The Ogallala Aquifer could use a serious recharge as could the lake and both tanks, ha.

The local stations are saying Lubbock's snow is just getting started. The sun is finally up and I believe it! We're supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow! I'm not so sure that will happen. I'm watching Fox 34's weather channel. They show Lubbock traffic cams. It looks like most people are staying home. That's a good thing, because there are accidents everywhere on the cams.

We're really getting it now. Big flakes and visibility is less than 1/4 mile now.

It is in the 50's here...Had a few thunderstorms last night...The wind was a little bad...30 mph w/40 gusts...Saying snow could come in tonight and tomorrow here...geezzzz

Amarillo Weather Service office is reporting 12" of snow so far, says the 24 hour snowfall record of 20.3" might be in danger of being broken...

Traffic is at a standstill, DPS reporting stranded cars all across the Texas Panhandle, all flights out of Rick Husband International Airport in Amarillo are cancelled until further notice.

Wind gusts of up to 60mph have drifts in excess of 7ft being reported on roadways...

There are some local power outages being reported around the Texas Panhandle, but nothing widespread yet...

We just got a foot of snow here in the Kansas city metro area and where supposed to get another foot or more yay :(

I'm not complaining about the snow at all...the wind sucks.

These drifts are huge...

Just moved my truck out of the garage and to the front of my drive way which is a long one. Don't want to have to shovel that much although I doubt I'll be going anywhere today. Barely got the door open as a drift had just about sealed it shut. This one is a dozzy.

Yeah I just read this from out local meteorologist.

"Now attention turns to this afternoon as winds gradually pick up and begin to gust over 40 mph, but unlike most situations when the winds tend to die off at sunset, these winds will not. The winds will howl all night long.

The center of the winter storm is near Childress moving east with blizzard conditions in progress across much of the Panhandle/South Plains. There is still a chance of some snow in north Texas after sunset especially along the Red River, and we could see some wet snowflakes here in the northern half of the Metroplex but no accumulation."

Thanks for the update. Traveling east to Ohio from Colorado. Currently holed up with sister in Loveland Co. Plan to stay here another day to wait this one out. All updates appreciated.
