Let's start an ART thread! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24410859 United States 05/09/2013 07:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is a clip of Lotte Reiniger's work. She was a master of early animation, she cut out extremely intricate silhouette forms and shot them frame-by-frame. She's a favorite of mine, I find her work very original: Quoting: Junkyard Lily [link to www.youtube.com] That reminded me a little bit of this: [link to www.youtube.com] Yes, for sure, Sonic! Wow, very good pick up, definite Reiniger influence, there. Super! Looks like an interesting game, too. It was a great game, it has received an average score of 8.7/10 from 1500 users [link to www.gamespot.com] Goes to show, it's not always about amazing graphics or shooting everything that moves. It CAN just be about original atmosphere and clever puzzles. I agree, I will have to check out the game, thanks for the link. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24410859 United States 05/09/2013 07:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cool image, I like how a lot of images, adverts etc have like visible energy in their imagery these days. Have people noticed this? I've only really noticed this myself in the last 3 or 4 years . Are artists awakened to the fact that energy exists all around us or is it just because it looks cool and makes an image seem more alive/dynamic following a trend set by others. I guess it's a bit of both, True! I agree, I have been seeing a lot of it, makes me happy. I posted a link just before to a painting of Morgana Le Fay by Brian Froud, that painting has some of that quality, too. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24410859 United States 05/09/2013 07:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I love to visit this thread. Thanks everybody for all the awesome work. Quoting: U3 Here's a link to an installation. She likes to use negative space quite a bit, too. Here's a blurb (and then the link) "After the Celestial Axe is a sculpture with 27 mirrored surfaces that reveals a magical, multi-planar universe. As you walk through the forest, you encounter the sculpture shining mysteriously and brightly through the trees. The sculpture is comprised of a moss-covered fallen oak tree sliced up by a Celestial Axe and covered in layered frothy mirror fragments, shaped and arranged with a high degree of optical awareness and purpose. The artwork shows the aftermath of an event of incomprehensible proportions – an Axe that fell mysteriously from the skies, leaving a sparkling residue of starry formations. When seen from afar, these reflective arrangements sparkle in the sun; but when examined more closely, they reflect, refract, expand and transform the environment and the viewer. How or why the Celestial Axe fell is a part of a hidden narrative." [link to drue.net] WOW. I like very much, inspiring! Thank you for sharing, U3. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1296810 Netherlands 05/09/2013 07:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Very interesting. It kept my attention all the way through it. Is the title indicative of Cephalius is illuminati and the "daughter" is Procris or Obama? Yeah it's loosely based on the official story, actually the presidents are Celhalus and the population is Procris. As the story goes, procris is going to be sorry that she ever met him (according to the goddess that tries to steal Celaphus heart but doesn't win his heart over because of his love for Procris) So I based my storyline in todays events and I found it very matching with the original story . In a very creative GLP kinda way |

I did something else (don't remember what exactly) but then I closed some tabs on my computer and found a tab that I did NOT know how it got there. I had not clicked the link. Since it was for Occult Art, I figured I must have accidentially clicked it while going through this last page. Since I'm having trouble loading this page (because of YT vidoes), I could be wrong, but I did not see this link here. Anyway, please excuse me if I'm copying something already posted, but there are 2 images I got off the site. I could see this playing in the background at an art installation of some kind...the pace is interesting, the guy who was filming (guessing it is a guy by the pace and sound of the shoes) seems to be walking to a destination, or with purpose, to me. I'm a fast walker, and I'd probably have to sprint a few times to keep up , such great scenery. My favorite areas were the sections where the street was lined with stones, and then the water-wheel with the criss-crossed pavement, different and interesting! |
