look I made a thread early this week questioning my local cable company's running of very odd adds.

In these PSAs they advise people to have at least 3 days food and water on hand...IN CASE OF BIRD FLU epidemic.

WTF? Bird flu has not yet developed the full capability to jump from human to human yet...and every preparedness site including the red cross recommends 2 weeks to 6 months of food and water on hand in case of bird flu.

so why are they running these PSAs???? full of disinformation? WHy would we loose water and electricity in such a short time of infection (read 3 days) when it would take far longer than that for enough people to be infected or sick enough to disrrupt services?

About 2-3 months ago, I'm not sure of the exact dates.

But yeah, that freaked me out... Now, none of them are airing, which is either a good, OR a really bad sign ;)

Anyway, let's pray there is no DOOM ;)... because a lot of people would only be too glad to say "I TOLD YOU SO DUMBASS"

Basically it tracks 5 or 6 different calendar predictions for novelty and lack of novelty over time. On September, you see all the lines coming down in different paths, some steep some more gradual, all in a V to a point right on September 19, then together the lines go up following pretty much the same line after that. Something happens on Sept 19 to unify everyone, to cast away novel thinking, everyone at the same time hunkers down.
