cash from yuma User ID: 1193854 United States 12/13/2010 09:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As I posted on the other thread - it is NOT a planet (ie Venus or Saturn); since when do planets PULSATE?! A planet appears as a static light in the sky - no light fluctuations at all. A star "twinkles". This thing in the eastern morning sky PULSATES in such a way as nothing else in the sky. Explain that... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1172415It's not a planet or star. I look at them through my telescope. As of September 2 there are 7 different objects in the sky. One very bright object in the West that comes out around 8 PM and one in the East that appears around 9 PM. There are 5 others that move from east to north that hoover around the horizon line. The all pulsate. The five around the horizon get bright and then disappear. There are two that are brilliant yellow, two that are red and one that changes colors from red to white. I've been watching the LARGE VERY BRIGHT object in the western sky since the end of May, and, yes, sometimes it changes colors - mostly red/white/blue - but not "twinkling" really, slower than that. I'm 68 years old, have been a sky-watcher for a long time, never seen anything like it other than Halley's Comet in the 70's, which was about the same brightness. It does NOT show up on Stellarium. At this date, September 3, Venus (and Mars) sinks below the horizon just after 8 p.m., but this thing is still there, more to the north. NO, IT'S NOT ANTARES. It seems to just disappear later, not sinking below the horizon 'cuz it stays in the same spot, then gone. Maybe I don't watch it long enough. But stars and planets move, and pretty fast too; you with telescopes know this. Haven't a clue... Has anyone in more northerly latitudes seen it? I'm in S. Arizona, my Seattle friend says he doesn't see anything. (But when is the sky clear in Seattle?) We have very clear winter skies in interior alaska. Yes we have the very bright Whatever It Is (the Wii in the Sky . . .) Way brighter than anything else and can be seen well past dawn. Have been watching it for a number of years now. Can't see it in the summer of course, but every fall when nights get dark again it seems to increase in intensity. We also have stationary red-and-blue twinkly somethings in the NE sky, the NW sky and the SE sky. We have a cabin with a very good view of the sky and NO light pollution and we watch the twinkly things all winter long. They are ALWAYS in the same spots. And yes, the Whatever It Is doesn't seem to set. It just disappears. Have seen this quite a few times, most notably at New Year's fireworks display. The Wii was quite a ways up over the horizon, maybe 30 degrees, in the direction the fireworks were being shot off. So it was very noticeable. When the fireworks show was over (about 20 minutes) it just completely vanished. yes im 43 been watching you are right its planet -x though |

I had not pulled my bathroom curtain and saw even without my glasses a bright object in the sky that was pulsing that seem to stay in the same spot. Thinking it might be an airplane, I got my glasses. At that time of morning, this was about the same part of the horizon where the winter sun seems to be setting (in the west?) It was quite interesting. I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. |

Actually, the stars that strobe/pulsate different colors are ships-yep, our cosmic brothers and sisters. If you look at them with a telescope you KNOW they are not stars, as a true star doesn't strobe. On any given night you can pick out 3 to 6 ships.....we are not alone, never have been. |

Bright as hell. Just look to the east before the sun comes up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 297306I was born down east so I agree that everything seems brighter from that locale. It's only when you start heading west that things start looking dimmer. |

I don't know what those three objects are, but I've photo'd them before. Not all at the same time though. But this video is way more than just those 3 objects. There is a massive UFO, or UFO's together, in that photo. Look at all the structure in the darkest potions behind the trails. Sit back from it, and see the symmetry. The vapor is clinging, streaming off of the outer portions, the edges. Wow, I have a video of huge objects appearing very much like this. OMG. Made my heart race. This is a rare day. Wow. In years of having cam in hand every day, only a few days are close, and only one was this awesome. [link to www.youtube.com] Great job on this video whoever caught this. he is right that the chemtrails are hiding something, but it's much more than he realizes at the time he made the vid. |

montrealman User ID: 1244996 Canada 01/27/2011 12:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've also noticed this "bright star" very often for the past 3 years or so. I lived near the countryside away from city lights for many years and have always looked up at the sky every so often, but only noticed this some 3 years ago. This is the first time I go online to get information about this bright star, so it's not like I only looked up at the sky after reading it online. I found it myself. It also seems to be getting brighter and brighter as the months go by, especially this past week, in the morning at around 6:00 eastern time. from montreal. yeah, now I live in the city, still see it clearly. Wish I had a telescope to get a better look at it. what is it?? Does it have anything to do with 2012?? Why don't they talk about it in the news. They talk about Mars when it's most visible.. why not this star or whatever it is?? Anyways, I just wanted to see what was on the net about this and looking for the right answer. But at the same time, the unknown opens the mind to creative thinking. Goodday |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1296509 United States 03/14/2011 05:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since last Oct 14, 2010, I saw this brilliant object in the night sky at 3:00 a.m. at totally East. Many times observe it with my friends and wife during the nights and, is really, really awesome. This brilliant "star" has been there during November, December, January, February and March but, I saw that since 3 years ago you are reporting this rare star. This awesome object is visible at naked eye, but I saw it throught a telescope, binoculars and cameras too. In internet, I found a comet called 17/P Holmes but, the last commentary about it, was made in October 14, 2010, no more. No recently photos, no commentaries, nothing about it in the sky so, probably, it is not the Comet Holmes but... certainly it is not Venus. If you want to see this huge object in the night sky, I will try to give you the most information possible about location, appearance and pattern of behaviour. Watched in: Location: Bonita, CA. 91902 Latitude: 32.680166, Longitude: -117.029028 Observation Time: 4:50 am - 7:10 am (local time) Star Rising: East Hour: 4:30 a.m. (under 30º) Object Position: Azimuth: 9 hrs Height: 51º Zenit: 49º Local Time: 5:00 a.m. Universal Time: 9:00 p.m. During Oct, Nov, Dec and January, this object looks as very brilliant fuzzy ball, intense blue color and lack of tail but, during February, this object has been changed, now it is more brilliant, have an elliptical shape, and the shine is red. Probably all this complicated information is not necessary, if you look at East since 5:15 am PT, you can see it tomorrow morning. |
