They didn't and don't. Thank you for supporting my point. Operation Planet X On or about May 15, 2003 (and it is not a joke) US Army forces in Iraq conducted military operation dubbed "Planet X". Iraq The Iraq invasion was clearly scheduled to occur going into the announced 2003 date of Passage. Frantic effort by the Administration to gain international support and proceeding even when it failed, clearly showed that it was their plan, from the beginning. May 15, 2003 Weeks before and shortly after May 15, 2003, with no signs of inevitable terrorism threat: - Operation "TopOff" was called to be in place, involving Seattle, Chicago, and Washington DC and over 100 agencies in the US and Canada. - Terrorism exercises were scheduled for the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. - Indonesia declared Martial Law - Homeland Security went to level Orange in the US, with Level Red, wherein citizens are ordered to remain in their homes, being the next step. Andrew... the idea that NASA and astronomers couldn't locate and track a large planet right in the inner Solar System and were reading Zetatalk for that information is simply LUDICROUS! It is only your desperate credulity which forces you to believe such a silly thing. You HAVE to believe it or Zetatalk falls right apart. My belief, your belief, ANYONE's belief is IRRELEVANT. Not at all, considering that we base our actions on what we believe is true. If it's there, my belief changes nothing. If it's not there, my belief, your lack of it, and The Commentator's hate speech changes NOTHING. It's not about proving it or not - for that is not the point of Zetatalk. It is about being PREPARED for planetary doom - an insurance policy of sorts. One cannot prepare for something unless/until we have a reasonable expectation of what will take place. Why aren't we preparing for an alien invasion of mutant sloths? I'm sure that deep within the black ops bowels of the defense establishment, this very scenario has been thoroughly "gamed". The best advice we can give on this matter is to read with your heart as well as your mind. Follow the flow, let the nuances lie unanswered and unchallenged in your mind. Treat this as a garden you are walking through for the first time, and experience it fully without trying to categorize it! Much of what you will learn will be processed in your subconscious, and influence your conscious mind later. If you must dissect each phrase, and correlate it with each piece of information taken from another source, you will trash much of what you could otherwise gain. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74444I am sure ZM has rogue elephant insurance, too. And random wandering tank insurance as well. And never, ever drives a vehicle of any kind. No - but I did get the extended warranty for my washer, dryer and kitchen stove and fridge. Except for the dryer, they have ALL needed expensive service (the stove and washer more than once), and they are TOP OF THE LINE Kitchen Aid and Kenmore (actually Whirlpool) models. None of these is more than six years old either. I just bought my fourth new set of wireless phones in just the last decade. (Your typical $100 set at Best Buy lasts about two years - tops). Everything today is SHIT compared to things when I was growing up. (Except for vehicles ironically.) The old green Bell phone I grew up with in my parents house is at least 40 years old, and still works like new. There are a whole slew of unlikely events that would, if one were to strictly adhere to the 'it's not the odds, it's the stakes' paradigm you seem to suggest above. You are *far* more likely to get injured in a car wreck, than by PX (particularly given PX's apparent non-existence). And you prudently have auto insurance, I assume. But you don't avoid driving altogether, nor do you own a Sherman Tank to go grocery shopping in. Well, why not? Those are akin to the levels of prep/relocating that Nancy (and, by extension, you) seem to advocate. I don't think you'll find a single debunker advocates no preparation whatsoever -- prudent preparations for the natural disasters your own area are vulnerable to simply make sense -- but there are levels of preparation that can be, in fact, detrimental, and even harmful. And Nancy advocates those kinds of levels all the time. After all, if a grand majority of people actually listened to her, both coasts would have been utterly evacuated for YEARS now, waiting for the planet that has stubbornly never come. Do you see my point? |

And Nancy advocates those kinds of levels all the time. After all, if a grand majority of people actually listened to her, both coasts would have been utterly evacuated for YEARS now, waiting for the planet that has stubbornly never come. Do you see my point? Nobody here would advocate not being prepared for a natural disaster. For the time being, I live in a quake zone that hasn't seen any action in more than 300 years. Having lived through some big ones I have a built in habit of assessing my escape routes wherever I am in case things start shaking. I have a basic kit by the door in case I need to leave suddenly, but the big Mexico quake in 83 taught me that it's pointless to go overboard in preparing, because disasters don't happen according to your plans. I always try to have a bit more food than I need on hand, but I don't fill my cellar with gear and canned foods because if your house falls down and burns in the aftermath, those thousands of dollars spent will do you no good whatsoever. After a big disaster, the first couple of days you are completely on your own. The mentality of the people around you changes and at least in my experience in quakes, hurricanes and wildfires people work together and help each other out. Your best preparation isn't the things you acquire to make things easier, it is in the practical skills you have developed and your willingness to work with others and do what needs to be done. If its your time to die, you will. If not, you move on, no matter how bad it gets. Over preparation gives people with no skills a false sense of safety. Take those things away in a disaster and that person is worse off than if they hadn't prepared at all. We are never safe. It is part of the human condition on this world. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. |
