Menow User ID: 1119283 United States 11/01/2010 09:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | are you really that DUMB? Quoting: andrew"changes position as a part of its orbit bla bla..." - what utter nonsense! the right part of that gif is misleading - for if it was doing it while staying in place - i agree it could be called rotation around its axis. Really? If something is moving, that means it isn't rotating? Why? Does that mean Earth is not rotating? but if ytou look at left part of gif you see how it is - it is orbiting around Earth with obe side 'glued' permanently to Earth! - just exactly like Nancy/Zetas said! Quoting: andrewPermanently? When did they say that, and what makes it permanent? I already asked you what would happen to the Moon if Earth suddenly went missing. Why didn't you answer? what it does ( as evidenced by red dot) is not rotate around its axis, it orbits Earth with one side glued to it! that doesnt equal rotation around its axis! Quoting: andrewOf course it does. I already asked you if Earth was rotating, but you didn't answer. Is Earth rotating? How do you know? and to the contrary - if it WAS rotating, red dot would point out at times. and it does NOT. this right part of gif is misleading. Quoting: andrewHow can a point on the surface of a rotating body always point in the same direction? |

Because you don't seem to be reading my posts at all before you respond to them. The moon revolves around the Earth AND spins on its own axis. The fact that the same side faces the earth is proof of its spin because of the fact that it moves. If it did not spin in addition to revolving around the Earth, then we would not see the same side all the time. We would see different sides because we would be viewing it from different angles. |

Then stand a meter away from it, facing the chair. Now try to walk around circling the chair and while doing this stay facing the chair without turning your head. If you are not as stupid as we think you are you will see that you have to rotate around your own body axis to stay facing the chair. |
