He wants the attention, he wants to feel in control of something in this life, so he winds us up and steers the conversation around. He gets off on making intelligent people follow his lead, and we let him. That's why I am just going to ignore him. He really has nothing intelligent to say, he baits and taunts us to feel better about himself and his pathetic life. If enough of us ignore him he will try to appease us by behaving better. It's a game for him. I don't want to play.

You make that sound like serial killing, or something similar. It's not a "game" for you? What is it then? Why come here almost daily with the sole aim of eviscerating everything and anything I say or post?

I'm here because for me, this is a prison planet, and this is my "weight room" where I kill time. I'd LOVE to make a REAL difference in this world, but there is too many barriers for any individual to overcome alone. And you can pontificate all you want about feeding the homeless, or volunteering at an animal shelter - and the response I will give is to suggest that you grab a shovel and go in your backyard, dig a hole, and fill it in again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

The homeless person you feed today, will be hungry tomorrow.

Obviously it would be better to get them "off the street" - but that would require employment.

Which reminds me of one of the most patently ABSURD "charities" I've ever imagined. These "donate business clothes for needy job interviewees" charities that are now getting a LOT of airplay. As if the entire employment problem consisted solely of poorly dressed interviewees. Now of course, if you are an individual in need, such a service is not "absurd" - and with that focus, I would agree. However it is ABSURD from a SOCIETAL level of evalution. The individual's responsibility is GET a job. Societies responsibility is to PROVIDE THEM - either directly or through incentives to attract those who can. Spotlighting and promoting these "dress for success" charities is NOT something any elected official should concern themselves with. They need to focus on getting MORE jobs, not making people "more" hirable.

WRONG FOCUS.

But that is the norm today - turn everyones attention away from the REAL issues, and focus on perpetual never-ending "hamster wheel" ones instead.

"Dress for success" does NOTHING to help the overall economy WHATSOEVER.

It will be interesting to follow this group to see if any of them commit suicide to spare themselves from the obvious tribulation they were meant to endure since they didn't wake to find themselves in heaven.

EXACTLY....and this was Nancy's biggest mistake. She should have set a date far enough in to the future that she couldn't possibly still be alive to see (and then explain) her ultimate failure. That would be someone else's problem to deal with.

You *want* the thread to get past 1000. If you didn't, you would have quit when you were ahead months ago, when the thread lay unused for a number of days, so you came in trumpeting victory. If you had done nothing, the thread would likely have ceased, and you can't have that.

A thread where everyone agrees dies pretty quick. So you took it upon yourself -- for whatever reason -- to be the contrarian. It's hard to have a argument with only one side (despite the fact that, as far as Nancy's version of PX, there is only one side. Her fantasy has gotten THAT far from verifiable reality).
