I wouldn't be surprised if the morons on the ning think that the moon travels in a straight line as it passes overhead.

Remember a certain "friend" of our's who had difficulty understanding the Moon's motion through the skies and thought that it rose in the same place each time?

Actually, I think he thought that wherever the sun rose and set on a particular day, the moon should do the same...not realizing that the journey the sun takes north and south in a year the moon accomplishes in only 28 days.

I know what you're sayin. Man even when the "moon is out of place" wackos on our own forum keep pushing this absolute CRAP I very rarely even click on their pathetic threads anymore. I mean we had one the other day on GLP about the moon being upside down to normal....or some shit similar.....

I mean I follow alot of conspiracy type subjects on GLP and the net but "the moon is out of place" junk has become BORING and STUPID!!

And what's the FIRST THING these wackos do when the REALITY is pointed out to them by simple EVIDENCE.....they shout .

At this point - Astronut. While the Space.com article mentions asteroids and other bodies, it doesn't mention Elenin. The purpose of this satellite is to search for any possible threats. It has nothing to do with Elenin. You're trying to make a conspiracy when there is none. While the two are loosely related, they both talk about different things.

It's interesting- did you actually bother to READ the articles at all melfy- or did you just assume because your indian friend said it was doomy it was....

One is about data sharing from military satellites watching objects entering the Earths atmosphere (so they are all looking for planet x how???- they are facing the wrong bloody way LOL)

And the other is budget cuts closing ONE SETI array (it's not the only or even the most major array) altho its loss does decrease the overall ability of SETI to listen out for possible messages (even that is tended to be a `sideline' for most SETI arrays are used for many purposes besides the SETI search)

They never both to read and digest an article if, at first glance, the article supports whatever twisted belief they hold.

They also never bother to read past the first article. Just like they ignore the subsequent scientific papers concerning IRAS discoveries. They saw the first article in 1983 (Washington Post), came to the conclusion that it concerned planet eX and ignore every scientific paper that followed it and subsequently disproved their claims.

That bit makes the rounds on a regular basis. I tried to sign up once and told the person to google "crescent Moon" and see how the moon changes orientation. Banned immediately.

I have picken this fertile soil because of my theory that debunkers become bunkers by simple subtraction - just "lop" off the 'de' like a lobotomy. A form of "fission" - much more easily achieved than "fusion" - i.e., a bunker becoming a debunker.

But I must admit, it is confusing to me why my success has been "limited".

And as usual - you have it completely arse about backwards- converting a bunker to a debunker in 99% of cases is quite simple- when shown FACTS and FIGURES disproving said bunk, they become debunked...(apart from the mentally retarded that is)

Converting a debunker to a bunker on the other hand is almost imposible- due to the fact that you have to show them that FACTS arent and everything they know is wrong- with no evidence... thus converting a debunker to a bunker does normally require a frontal lobotomy or other brain injury

Going from a bunker to a debunker is easy - just add brains.
Going from a debunker to a bunker is hard - just subtract brains.

As for you, it would appear that you've been rapidly losing brain cells and your descent into ignorance is rapid.
