Quoting: **ZetaMax** He says there will be SO MUCH snow and ice, that it will not all melt next summer, and some will still be on the ground when late 2012 snow starts to fall. So there you go!!! How convenient. We have to wait 500 years to find out if he is correct. As for the second part, given that there are plenty of mountains where the snow never completely melts over the summer, I think he needs to be a bit more specific about what location this prediction applies to. |

Was he specific as to where? As the previous posted pointed out, some mountaintops don't lose all the snow on their peaks all year long. BTW, the NWS is predicting another winter like last year because of La Nina...I'm much more inclined to believe their prediction over Clif's considering they were right about last winter. I bet the woman has never used a GPS unit let alone held one in her hands. I've been using GPS, on and off, for the last fifteen years both on the ground and in the air and not once has it acted up or led me astray - even when I flew a single-engine Cessna from Tulsa, Oklahoma to San Juan, Puerto Rico and a couple years later, in the same plane, from St. Croix, USVI to Mobile, Alabama. The woman is bat-shit crazy. |

Circuit Breaker User ID: 1332648 United States 10/23/2011 09:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So let's see here - the "Zetas" said the GPS network was going to fail. However, the other poster's Garmin Nuvi works fine. The Pioneer navigation system in my truck works fine. The Sync navigation system in my wife's car works fine. That means any problems you're having are with the unit itself - NOT the GPS network...otherwise, three other systems wouldn't be working. So you're obviously just trolling. Anonymous Coward User ID: 3238218 United States 10/23/2011 10:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What say you now, Max? Are you still going to claim "Zetas right again!" when it's obvious they are not? After all, the "Zetas" never said that individual GPS units would fail. They said the entire network would fail. If that were true, then NO ONE'S GPS device would be working. I can add that the GPS device built in to my iPhone is working just fine. It tracks my run with only occasional minor problems due to the GPS patch antenna being blocked by my hand depending on how I grip the phone. Quoting: Circuit Breaker :truly: Nancy, Max and quite a few others don't have a clue about navigation systems used in aircraft or ships. Commercial, corporate and military aircraft do not depend solely on GPS (if they even have it installed). These aircraft use multiple navigation aids - GPS (if installed), Inertial Navigation (INS), VOR, DME and in some cases (it's going out of use) Automatic Direction Finding (ADF). You can't fly IFR on a single navigation source - you have to use two. INS is preferred for commercial and most corporate aircraft with GPS providing a cross-reference. Same goes for ships - they use INS, LORAN (being phased out) and GPS. Here's what ships use: [link to www.sperrymarine.northropgrumman.com] [link to www.l-3klein.com] ...and aircraft [link to www.honeywell.com] [link to www.rockwellcollins.com] |

What need is there for "faith". Clif says this winter will be the obvious beginning of a new "ice age" - and that the change we will be experiencing will become the new "reality" going forward. If he's right, then this should be CLEARLY evident by mid-January. If we get to that point, and everything is "normal", then you can pencil in another "fail". But - if we get the same kind of blizzard the midwest saw last year - but a new one EVERY WEEK or even every two weeks, and we see temperatures well below zero for weeks on end, then it will be YOU having to confess FAIL!!! |
