SONIC BOOM-LIKE SOUND OVER LONG BEACH, CA
Hey GLP'ers,

I was outside in my front yard and about 20 minutes ago heard two loud sonic boom-like sounds, but no space shuttle landing today. Too loud to be any kind of gun fire, car back fire, etc. I'm in East Long Beach anyhow in the Los Altos area, so no gangsters in this pard of the LBC.

Just wanted to warn my fellow Southern Californians because the last time we had an earthquake (epicenter was in Inglewood), we heard a similar loud sonic boom-like sound in the sky just after the earthquake and no I'm not EAT! ;)

I'm across the harbor from you. Didn't hear the boom but am wondering if EQ event is coming tonight or tomorrow. Weather very much as it was for Northridge, don't you think?

Will try.

Three nights in a row now, I've had a dream of earth quakes. Crazy thing, in the dream, I am not afraid but in the dream, the shaking is damn big. Worse than the Inglewood one.

Please keep us updated. It would not be unusual given the EQ pattern in world to have repercussions. So good to pay attention and let us know.

I know. The truth isn't very exciting is it? Of course, this is most likely the scenario. Ever heard of Occam's razor?

The poster above me is probably correct. It might be the Aurora, but I can think of a number of other crafts that could do this. I bet they're doing recon missions.

Yes, unusually hot. Sometimes with odd wispy clouds in the sky. It was damn hot today, even now into the night when normally it quickly cools down when the sun sets.

So what are the animals doing? Restless? Cowering?

Animals are the best indication of a pending eq.

Edwards is not far from you. This is one of the more likely causes. Well, that and 20 other aircraft locally that could perform the same feat. You guys are just way too punchy.

How much freakin weed do you smoke on a daily basis? I would suggest you cut down considerably.

Oh that's right I forgot it was mother Earth warning you of an impending quake--- Yea because this big blue marble gives a crap about you just enough to do so. Ummmm not so much!

Yes, it is!

It was very hot that week before - 90 degrees at the beach in Santa Monica - in January!

And we had three good middle-of-the-day foreshocks that week in the 3.2-3.5 range, all centered around Studio City and Santa Monica.

I too live in the area and have been hearing these sonic booms also. I thought at first they were fireworks noise because I first heard them in July and always around the same time....9:30 PM/ But I soon discovered they weren't fireworks. I dont know what they are but judging from the time you posted this, I cant help but notice the time similiarities.

Re: SONIC BOOM-LIKE SOUND OVER LONG BEACH, CA
Wow, didn't think I would get any good replies on my thread and it would be lost in GLP's sea of threads! :)

To answer some previous posters:

1. Yes, we have had what we call "Shake and Bake" weather this week. We started the week off with cold weather and three days of rain (well rain for Cali) and today was 85-92 up and down the coast with 100 in the desert. In the past, we would have this type of weird weather prior to some shaking.

2. I know my dogs have been acting really weird like they are spooked and keep panting so much that I've made them sleep in our garage because they keep scratching the doors in the house.

3. I live on the other side of the 605/22/405 near the Los Al base and we have jet fighters fly over on a weekly basis, but this sound was not fighter jets after burn and the sound came from north of my position, as if one were heading North on Studebaker toward Spring St., but the sound was up high in the sky, not a plane, etc. If it were a plane or experimetnal craft, it was really high in the atmosphere. We have a lot of air traffic here, so I can distinguish between military C-17, C-130, jets, and the commercial jets that land at LB airport.

4. Sound was not coming from the direction of Anaheim (Disneyland nightly fireworks) and they start at 9 or 9:30 p.m., this was before 8 pm.

5. I love the Orange Curtain!!! :)

Hopefully, it was the Aurora and crossing my fingers to be spared from any serious shaking since I don't have earthquake coverage on my house. BTW, on our last earthquake that really shook the area in June?, it was like a 5.0 in Inglewood, we ran outside and about 1-2 minutes after the earthquake, we heard weird booms high in the sky too, but it was almost like crackling like fire works, but again high in the atmosphere. Posted that on GLP that night as well and some other people had heard the same thing, one gal was in Irvine, which is like 25-27 miles from Long Beach, so what ever it was it had a significant range. Scalar?

ZetaTalk: Booms
Note: written on Jun 15, 1996.

Increasingly as the pole shift nears, the Earth will give evidence of the compression and tension in her surface by what humans will perceive to be sonic booms. The mechanism is in fact the same, clapping air masses, the same mechanism that produces thunder. Where thunder is caused by air masses separated by what is essentially a vacuum created by the superheating lightning bolt, and where sonic booms are caused by a compressed air mass pushed in front of the plane exploding back to equalize with the thin air mass trailing the plane, pre-cataclysm booms are caused by heaving in large bodies of water. Earthquakes where plates are compressing are measured by humans as the friction causes jolting, but for every compression adjustment there is, somewhere, a widening in a rift. Most often these rifts lie underwater, as water fills low lying places. A widening rift does not jolt the bordering plates, it is a silent adjustment. However, the sea water rushing to fill the new void has an effect on the air masses above, creating a thin air mass and causing the air on all sides of this thin air space to rush in, and clap!

I could go on ALL day with all the news reports several years back up til the present that report mysterious booms, often followed by flashes, as methane gas that is released is ignited per the zetas...
