Quoting: Anonymous Coward 822411Be nice to start a NEW life and leave the past behind, including the preditory banksters and their USURY schemes ! I'm able to stay for free at my mom's so I won't be relocating unless I have something lined up that will pay enough that I can afford to live on my own wherever the job would be. $1000 isn't an insurmountable number to pay down in debt and I believe I should pay what I owe despite the predatory practices banks engage in, render to caesar that which is caesar's |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 803389Anything made of metal is of value to a scrap yard. Even galvanized stuff. If you can find copper wire, burn the insulation off of it first, you get more money. Bare copper piping and fittings is the most lucrative outside of silver and gold. Solid aluminum is a good thing too. Painted aluminum fetches less as it requires additional processing. Cans are worth $ 0.49 a pound in my area. |

If its for rent or any other real necessity, call yer landlord or whoever and say you just cant do it and need a payment plan or ask if there is any way they can help. People will work with ya. If its fer food, call around and get on a charity list and invest in rice and beans. You play by the rules, you lose the game. You pay off that credit card debt, likely as not you'll be investigated to see where you came up with the dough from. And, won't be a simple matter of "paying it off", there'll be fees/interest that have miraculously accrued when you attempt to pay it. It's like a bad divorce, it never stops unless you change your name and move without forwarding address. |

Debtors camp? LOL They'll have to build a bunch of those fuckers! The US is at 20% unemployment and losing 1/2 a million jobs a month. If I were a landlord I don't think I would be so choosy as to not rent to someone because they had 1 bad debt. People are giving you good advise here. Here's some more for you. I have a friend who was quite successful in real estate investing for the last few years but unfortunately didn't get out soon enough and got stuck holding a LOT of inventory. He had a line of credit with Wells Fargo and owed about 50k on a 200k line of credit. Even though his payments were on time they looked at his credit, saw all of his financed property and cut his line back to his balance. He used that line to make up for cash flow shortages and then would pay it off when he would liquidate a property, take his profits, and start the process over again. He no longer had his seed money to buy new stuff and the old inventory crushed him with home prices dropping. Anyways after not making any payments on the line or his credit card that he owed them around 12k for about 5 months they called him up and offered him a settlement of 9k for all of it! Apparently these banks can't get collection companies to buy unsecured debt for anything over 3-4% on the total. SO I say don't make your payments for a few months then offer them $100 or $200 Dollars and be done with it. MY buddy is telling them he'll do it only if they remove the trade lines totally from his credit......they are checking to see if they can. :5: |

I had to let fly my 4000 credit card bill that is now 4600 cuz I couldn't pay my rent or feed my son. I had to get emergency food stamps which you could get. I would drop the cc bill, i think everything is shitting the fan. I had to sell my old jewelry, not much but something. Sell everything you've got, its week to week at this point for most of us. Hard to find any decent work in this town. $10 hr is the most you can get and it ain't fast.... sorry man, bad times ahead, find out who your real friends are....hugs |
