Japan will not join U.N. initiative to make nuclear weapons illegal
The Japanese government has decided not to join an initiative by 16 countries at the United Nations to make nuclear weapons illegal, out of concern it would affect Tokyo's policy of maintaining security under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, Japanese government sources said Thursday.

Do you watched this File in the Original?

Imo. this is just a Estimation but not Fact,
how do they know the Release when it was
not even happening/ or ongoing?

A very, very strange Paper and it would be nice
to explain it for me/ for us (the People who dont understand!)

What is the meaning of "PMT"?

interesting point, because the parers did not sate what the report meant within its own confusication.... albeit, they had nothing more to state then what the already available statement was:

unit 1: undercernible
unit 2: under constant watering cooling.. deniably in a reusable cyclcic function... (where does the water go)
unit 3: unavailable due to hi radiological presence... given TEPCO statements and reporting : UNKOWN

unit 4: MASSIVE DESTRUCTION:

unit 5-6: unknown
SPF: ruled out with no statement

common radiological release on a specific and interpreted ratio and assumption, is TEPCO, at 1.8.... you fools....

Project Censored: The Top 10 Stories Under-Reported by the Mainstream Media

3. U.S. deaths from Fukushima
On March 24, 2011, the task of collecting nuclear data had been handed off from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to the Nuclear Energy Institute, a nuclear industry lobbying group. And in one study that got little attention, scientists Joseph Mangano and Jeanette Sherman found that in the period following the Fukushima meltdowns, 14,000 more deaths than average were reported in the U.S., mostly among infants. Later, Mangono and Sherman updated the number to 22,000.

EcoAlert: Cosmic-rays from Outer Space Could Heal Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Reactors
Researchers from Los Alamos National Laboratory have devised a method to use cosmic rays to gather detailed information from inside the damaged cores of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactors, which were heavily damaged in March 2011 by a tsunami that followed a great earthquake. The researchers compared two methods for using cosmic-ray radiography to gather images of nuclear material within the core of a reactor similar to Fukushima Daiichi Reactor No. 1. The team found that Los Alamos’ scattering method for cosmic-ray radiography was far superior to the traditional transmission method for capturing high-resolution image data of potentially damaged nuclear material.
-- snip -- (bottom of article)
Using a computer model, the research team simulated a nuclear reactor with percentages of its core removed and placed elsewhere within the reactor building. They then compared the Los Alamos scattering method to the traditional transmission method. The simulation showed that passive observation of the simulated core over six weeks using the scattering method provided high-resolution images that clearly showed that material was missing from the main core, as well as the location of the missing material elsewhere in the containment building. In comparison, the transmission method was barely able to provide a blurry image of the core itself during the same six-week period.

“We now have a concept by which the Japanese can gather crucial data about what is going on inside their damaged reactor cores with minimal human exposure to the high radiation fields that exist in proximity to the reactor buildings,” Borozdin said. “Muon images could be valuable in more effectively planning and executing faster remediation of the reactor complex.”

Robot suit to be used in Fukushima cleanup, controlled by brain waves
Japanese researchers on Thursday showed off a full-body robotic suit that is intended to be used by those working at the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant. The brain wave-controlled suit is meant to allow those wearing heavy radiation protecting gear to move freely without feeling the weight. In what is said to be a coincidence, the suit is called HAL, for Hybrid Assistive Limb, the same name as the evil supercomputer in the famous sci-fi movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. “I’m sorry Dave, but I can’t let you go near that radioactive debris.”

to believe what we are being sold is by the inference that nothing is said about common pool (40 meters from land edge into the ocean, and 50 meters from reactor core 2) so the assumption, that i derived from statements is that we are falsifying the grandeur of the situation based now on number 4....

Atom, I read the article and this is my response:
A) They know "approximately where" the 35-ton fuel transfer apparatus fell. 35 tons is a large piece of equipment so I would hope for more than "approximately"

B) Tepco is a corporation and they will only tell what is blatantly obvious. And, only if they are cornered and have no way of being vague as to the answer.

C) No one knows EXACTLY where the cores are located, and it will take several years to develop technology to deal with the spent fuel pools.

D) Mox did hit the open environment, how much is anyone's best guess.

E) Radionuclides take a while to show what the true damage will be. I hope for Japan it's not as bad as we think.

The posters here are not your enemies...we are just hoping for a real plan do deal with this mess.

Fire Occurred near Unit 1-2 Ultrahigh Voltage Switchyard (Outdoor) at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

At around 10:59 AM on October 19, 2012, a TEPCO employee on patrol found a fire occurring near Unit 1-2 ultrahigh voltage switchyard* (outdoor) at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The fire was reported to the fire department at 11:02 AM.

The employee performed a first-aid fire fighting and the fire was confirmed to have been put out at 11:12 AM. The fire department will investigate the site.

There was no injury due to the fire and no significant change has been found with the monitoring post data and plant condition.

* Unit 1-2 ultrahigh voltage switchyard
Facility used for transmitting the power generated in Units 1 and 2 to the power transmission system, which is currently not in use.

---
As a result of the site investigation by the fire department, the fire was confirmed to be extinguished at 12:07 PM. The area affected by the fire is estimated to be approx. 20m x approx. 20m (Note). The cause of the fire will be investigated.
