Quoting: Moist The best of both worlds. But I think they are going to begin to tax online purchases soon. Do not take memories of what happened yesterday, into what might happen today. We've use to buy bike parts overseas, but in the last two years they've opened the parcel and charged us customs. Stupid government. |

Don't forget Australia is still looking for workers overseas and they have a preference to hire over Australians themselves. This could be a shove in that direction. State of TN had a job fair in Nashville and there were 4 booths from Australian companies...contracting jobs. Just sayin'. Last Edited by Ripples of Entropy on 06/01/2012 12:20 AM |

Quoting: Wonkish Hardly anyone pays minimum here anyway only really scabby people who mostly employ Asians and Indians Yep! All the untrained jobs are going that way. Of course you can get a degree here, if you really try, to be a Janitor!!!! 5a: Things is lookin' up!!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16919382 United States 06/01/2012 12:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Great. So now everyone who was making $.01 more than minimum wage up to $15.96 p/h is now also making minimum wage... Thats the problem with raising minimum wage. Everybody else who was making more than minimum wage doesnt get a raise to adjust their wage to the amount over minimum wage they were making prior to the bump in minimum wage. For example, if minimum wage is $5.00 p/h and Ashely is making $10.00 p/h and minimum wage is bumped up to $10.00 p/h Ashley doesnt get a $5.00 p/h bump in pay to $15.00 p/h. Ashley is now making minimum wage where before Ashley was making $5.00 p/h more than minimum wage. The only thing raising minimum wage does is it makes more people minimum wage earners. |

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

The only reason they give us a pay rise is so that they can get more money for themselves! (I was going to include the stupid carbon tax, but it appears it will be offset by a few direct payments into our bank accounts.) |
