Next to Cyprus, this is the most important announcement of the day. Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. “Things fall apart; the center cannot hold.” Yeats |

There will be a new "regulator" or Minister of the Press. This also will effect the internet. Quoting: Earth Cries Press regulation deal struck by parties [link to www.bbc.co.uk] Slowly, but surely, all rights are being eroded on a global scale. Sad world on the horizon. Pity people on here don't read to well. These new regulations affect the untruthful deformation of individuals. i.e phone tapping and dustbin crawling of innocent individuals They do not affect run of the mill daily news gathering in any way. Big business and politicians are still fair game as long as the stories about them ARE TRUE, something the UK press it not to cleaver at in the past. |

Let's hope your assessment is correct, but if you go back in history and see when such regulations were set up, nothing good ever came of it. The gov't should not be involved in regulating the press, in my opinion. That should be left up to the civil courts if someone has a beef with a journalist, etc. Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. “Things fall apart; the center cannot hold.” Yeats |

Bullshit, we already have laws covering what they did, this will be censorship pushed by Common Purpose and the Left. It was already against the law to intercept voice mails texts etc. You do realise that the expenses scandal could have been swept under the carpet with what the Left wanted |

There is no "Corporate" crime of voice and data interception of private individuals. How do you think governments and GCHQ operate legally you dick. Only individual journalists were prosecuted for the phone hacking where it could be proved. The papers only paid out ex-Gracia payment to avoid claims going to court. A under the counter deal was done with the "Hacked Off" group which saw the News of the World get closed as it was cheaper in the long run for both sides. Do you see the Sun newspaper being prosecuted for the latest revelation. Course not. |

It's why Glen Mulcaire was sentenced to prison, can't really be sent down without committing a crime. ( although some can testify differently) |

The UK press is the most biased, government propaganda mouth piece in the world. Just look at who camerons best friends are. Andy Coulson, David Camerons spin doctor. Rebekka Brooks, sending texts to David Cameron telling him how much she loves him and shit. Freedom of press lol |
