The one that got away, 1954 Austin Healy 104 LeMans. Old cars are in my genes. My dad (who I never really knew) had a Packard v-16, saw a picture of it once, and supposedly it was in the Paris auto show, and owned by the Sprekles sugar family, before my dad got ahold of it. My mom, totally unaware of what she had, owned a 1949 Studebaker with the propeller front bullet, a 50's Hudson Honet, a 50's Willys Henry J, a 1954 ford convertable with continental kit, red (happy days car), a 1956 Studebaker sky hawk, and a 1970 Boss Mustang. She only had them because that was what she could afford at the time, being a single mother with four kids. I wish I had just one of them now. My current old car is a 1969 Mercedes 280 SE German Model, in great shape. Nice, my first was a '76 Monza town coupe, got it with a blown out 4 cyl and swapped in a small block out of my brothers pick-up. Boy, he was pissed! Roasted many a tire on my way to school in that car... |
