Quoting: LoneStarRising ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think the Constitution Will Save Us? Think Again The subversion of democracy was the explicit intent of the framers. Consider a few facts: Donald Trump is in the White House, despite winning almost three million fewer votes than Hillary Clinton. The Senate, the country’s most powerful legislative chamber, grants the same representation to Wyoming’s 579,315 residents as it does to 39,536,653 Californians. Key voting rights are denied to citizens in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and other United States territories. The American government is structured by an 18th-century text that is almost impossible to change. These ills didn’t come about by accident; the subversion of democracy was the explicit intent of the Constitution’s framers. For James Madison, writing in Federalist No. 10, “Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention” incompatible with the rights of property owners. The byzantine Constitution he helped create serves as the foundation for a system of government that rules over people, rather than an evolving tool for popular self-government. You don't get to re-invent the meaning of something that has withstood the test of time for over 200 years....AND is backed by the intent of those who wrote it. If you don't like it, change it. Nope, they prefer activist judges to re-interpret and fit their agenda. IMHO, a judge who doesn't abide by the Constitution should be tossed. |

Someone will see the weakness in that government and will want this real estate here for themselves. That conservative governmental system is why the USA still exists at all. |

There are only 3 documents in the series. I, II, and VI. At the end of #6, he states that the Constitution created the government we have today or it is powerless to control it. In either case, it is unfit to exist. The Framers of the Constitution shoved it down the throats of the delegates to that convention. The convention was called to tweak the Articles of Confederation to pay for the war debt. G. Washington and his cohorts pulled off the greatest coup in all history. The time is fast approaching where we will be fighting for our freedoms! There have been enough examples in history of what happens to democracies and how they become as bad as any dictatorship. You simply replace the rule of one man with the rule of 50% +1, but you essentially achieve the same end results. The countries turn into hellholes and explode. Our founders weren't interested in rehashing old ideas that didn't work, but the current crop of communists in our schools and being bumped out by our schools are so ignorant of what they call for, you have to feel bad for them until you realize they will burn down everyone and everything around them in their goal of achieving it. |

Reading the drivel of a man who was born long after the original founding occurred doesn't seem at all necessary. You think he is better informed than those who actually participated in the writing of the documents and attended the Constitutional Convention? How about all those who participated and voted to ratify the final draft of the Constitution? You're right. I'm going to read him as you suggest. It looks to be an interesting read. Thanks for the tip. I did some cursory research and I think he and I have much in common with regard to the Constitution and slavery. FivelCubed User ID: 76773588 United States 08/09/2018 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Funny that they bring up Senate representation of Wyoming's few people vs California's many as being evidence that the Constitution is anti-democratic. The Democrat party then, in the same way, is anti-democratic, as their superdelegate votes during primaries outweigh their average voters votes like 10,000 to 1. That's anti-democratic. If they had actually been democratic, Bernie would have received the nomination and would probably have become President (because dems aren't good at basic math or common sense). |
