Terrebonne User ID: 76936059 United States 09/14/2018 05:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don’t think it’s going to be faulted on the homeowners/business owners in regards to what was reported yesterday. The gas company is not answering questions because they are going to be legally responsible I would imagine for all of the damage. I’ve heard of this sort of thing occurring in neighborhoods but not a large sector like yesterday. I’m guessing that some sort of pressure reduction station failed or was not set correctly causing the overpressurization. You as a homeowner could keep everything updated as far as safely controls but if your next door neighbor doesn’t, your house could still be at risk. Quoting: Plan Z Reg. stations has a kill switch either remotely or on sight, if the system becomes over pressurized, valves will slug shut, if that were to fail, the stations regs depending on the type of regulators in use, would also have a relief valve which would, at higher pressures blow off excessive pressures. . Small blue thing User ID: 76535889 Netherlands 09/14/2018 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So gas is dangerous! As we didn't already know. In my country they want homes to change gas for all kind of energy that won't threat the environment and our planet. Not because it is so 'dangerous'. We have to pay more taxes, pay more fore healthcare and groceries and ofcourse alcohol and cigarettes 'because they are not healthy'. We have to save ourselves and our planet! The environment and Europe is the most important to Europe. And ofcourse not to be dependent on gas from elsewhere, like Russia. Russia is a 'made up' enemy and should be punished for all they did not. Very sad these explosions happened to the people in Massachusetts! Wish them all the possible best! Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one. (Friedrich Nietzsche) |

But I'm going with terrorists. Totally terrorists. Anyone around here putting their heat on has a serious iron deficiency. It's far from cold. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

I think some of the houses I've been in have had gas heating independent of other uses. Mind you, not in New England. They had an obsession with giant tanks of oil in the basement last time I was there - weirdos. I have gas heat, but it's been far too warm for anyone to be turning their heat on around here. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Quoting: sum_{n} \frac{1}{n^s} Oh yeah, lame-stream didn't run the story so nobody cares. Is everything still shut down? Is FBI still there? As the focus turned from emergency response to investigating the cause of gas explosions that caused the fires, National Grid said electricity to 18,500 customers in Andover, North Andover and Lawrence would be shut off at least until 9 am on Saturday morning, while Columbia Gas said it needed to inspect 8,000 individual gas hookups before determining whether they would be safe to turn on. Simple27 User ID: 76580724 United States 09/14/2018 11:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is the latest. I have no way to verify this. I heard this on WRKO Radio from callers that called in. Sources include the State Police and Rumors. Quoting: AmericanSpyglass The gas rupture was related to some sort of construction in Lawrence, and the rumor is a disgruntled worker sabotaged something, causing it all to blow to hell, and it had to do with the high pressure gas lines like a poster mentioned here last night. Again, I can not verify this but it’s what I heard. If it were a MAGA hat type it would be plastered all over the news... Must be a people type the media wants to protect. This is Massachusetts. You can count on one hand the MAGA people. No one dare wear the hat. Hmmm, not so true in my immediate area. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
