The arrest stems from incidents spanning from 2002 to 2005.

During Epstein's arraignment, Reid Weingarten, one of his attorneys, argued the the latest indictment is "essentially a do-over" and "this is old stuff." (IMO, this is why he was not suicidal and working with his attorneys 12 hours a day, they just thought it was a bogus arrest)


Epstein's non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of Florida includes this paragraph:

"Therefore, on authority of R. Alexander Acosta, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, prosecution in this District for these offenses shall be deferred in favor of prosecution by the State of Florida, provided that Epstein abides by the following conditions and the requirements of this Agreement set forth below."

This paragraph, which is common in such agreements, limits the scope of the agreement to only the Miami area, including Palm Beach.

If Epstein is alleged to have committed illegal acts in other parts of the country, the agreement would no longer protect him.

In February, the Justice Department opened an investigation into how federal lawyers handled Epstein's case after Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., wrote a series of letters to the department demanding to know why the government cut what he called a "sweetheart deal" with Epstein.

Wonder who that Manhattan DA was - will have to look that up.

So for the longest time, they had NO INTEREST in Epstein's activities. WHAT CHANGED? And why are they only looking at 2002-2005?

What I find most interesting about Epstein (aside from his "death") is that there's virtually NO INFORMATION about his activities during the 10 years prior to his "death". How can that be?

I'm sure he didn't change his activities.

I also wonder if the charging of Epstein was brought about by the NY authorities to try to entrap Trump some how but implying that a close friendship existed and that they shared illegal activities with girls (no proof of this at all).

This whole thing has such a stench and it looks like everybody is avoiding several central issues, the main one being - what has Epstein been doing the PAST TEN YEARS?

Vance was sworn into office as the Manhattan District Attorney on January 1, 2010. Within a few months, he established or consolidated numerous new bureaus and units in an effort to modernize the District Attorney's Office.

I suspect that the whole re-prosecution of Epstein involves them trying to get something on Trump. These NY weasels all hate Trump virulently and have been very vocal about it.

Acosta would have done what he was told by Obama's DOJ officials. So, with him having knowledge of what went down, he is a good choice to head that agency especially if he gave Trump the skinny on what went down.
