Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
gotta go for a bit, but a question for those who have experienced astral..

have you ever been "placed" into someone else's dream?
i say placed because i have never intended or meant to intrude, i am always PUT there by a force i do not control.
this has been confirmed twice by friends/family, and i have had many experiences i did not mention because i felt, in a sense, they would either not understand or, if they did, feel intruded by my presence there..

it is strange, they cannot see you if they are not very aware, and it's almost like my reality is distorted and quite literally imbedded in their reality. strange things like positions, structures, buildings meld together with other structures that do not make sense- my reality literally merging with theirs.

it was confusing for a while, and i haven't had another joint dream in a while. i think this is because i do not like intruding on other's private, intimate dreamworlds unless invited.. but i was wondering if anyone else has stumbled into a dream NOT of their own. any stories?

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
I have never had one of those classic OOBE's - though I have had many other experiences strange experiences, I often wonder about seemingly ordinary dreams though - the dream world does seem to have rules of it's own, at least for me, - there is no eating, going to the toilet, flying seems to be normal, and they allways seem to be interupted if there is any violence, sex or bad feelings - like it doesn't belong there.

It seems to me that it is an actual world we go to in our dreams.

haha, anyone denying astral projection either has an agenda to serve or has lost touch with the childlike natural ability to project and lucid dream...

so, the people here who are trying to debunk this are here to convince those with an interest, not an experience... i can say with a rather strong convinction and anyone here who has experienced a projection has seen themselves lying in bed, and experienced that, and nothing can shake that.

Anyone else here that can do this will agree with this statement and know I am telling the truth:

One you part from your body, that very moment you can leave AND *FAST* right straight up and out into space... AND I MEAN FAST. There is a loud noise and then it goes quiet for me... I can move through the solar system at unreal speeds...

When I am finished I can easily return to my body which happens at an instant and is followed with a loud humming noise for a couple seconds (like an electrical transformer).

Those that can do this know these above truths.

Small potatoes.

I've been doing this naturally since I was a child, my peeps were doing this a thousand years ago. Even then, they knew people like you were useless.

And, ye still are today.

WTF does it matter if you see blue people?

Nothing you have experienced can be quantified.

Bring back the future, then maybe you and I can palaver.

Until then, enjoy your mental masturbation.

How amusing -

that I will go out of my way to communicate an experience in an honest, down to earth manner - in an attempt not to inject my more significant philosophical perspectives on the matter;

…an attempt to offer my experience without bias attached to it... inviting others to take the mundane aspects and the profound and find a common fascination... interpretation.

So, for you my wise friend, I will stroke your ego since it protrudes away from your mind at such an angle that its reach is much closer than most.

In my attempts at coming to grips with the sudden experience of being without physical form, but with the extreme sense that I must persist for some greater cause - I suddenly thought,

"What if some lowlife arrogant prick on a conspiracy forum wishes to challenge my belief in the state I know that I am experiencing - at this moment?!? What, pray tell, will I have to show him as to puzzle this intellect into accepting that he is not the master of his reality – only his perceived reality!"

Then I decided (in that altered state, 6 years ago) that, if you did show up to a discussion such as this in the future to challenge my assertions, it would be useless to try and convince you of the sheer possibilities that exist within our sphere of knowledge/potential - as you undoubtedly are certain as to the nature of the universe (having experienced a whole 23 years of it)...

But, alas... no need! For once you reached the point of understanding that not all of us are telling stories of fiction today, you decide that you are a guru in the field.

Scared much?

…that your ability to experience and interpret soooo much more has everything to do with your pointed attitude... by the sheer nature of your competitiveness, your built-in defense mechanism –

You Win! (Cause you always do – every time - right?)

WRONG!! -

In the world of “Emptying your Cup” we take ourselves OUT of the equation! You would know this if you were remotely as experienced as you think you want someone to believe.

I say NAY!

You can't!

For your hopeless kind to be able to leave your ego - would be to tear apart the fabric of your generation!

You were raised with the notion of instant gratification and therefore do not recognize opportunities to humble yourself before the wise as she reveals secrets locked behind the veil!

It is your, "Sure you can... but I'm better than you" attitude (so self fulfilling) that orphans you from the sheer reality where you obtain anything but a contrived nod from the people that you think are your friends!

You are a silly neophyte with no respect for the world outside - ”without”...

WITHOUT... YOU!!

This statement would hurt others... to you, nay... "Words", mere words... for your kind can hardly imagine a world beyond yourself or your self-convincing, self-aggrandizing, biocentric reality…

…the one were the other people within your vision are mere figments of your imagination!

Your struggle with destroying the ego becomes its opportunity to RULE you… as it does:

Your tune:

I'm becoming less defined, as days go by
Fading away, well you might say I'm losing focus
Kinda drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself

Sometimes, I think I can see right through myself
Sometimes, I think I can see right through myself
Sometimes, I can see right through myself

Less concerned, about fitting into the world
Your world that is, cause it doesn't really matter anymore (no, it doesn't really matter anymore)
No, it doesn't really matter anymore
None of this really matters anymore

Yes I am alone but then again I always was
As far back as I can tell, I think maybe it's because
because you were never really real to begin with
I just made you up, to hurt myself

I just made you up to hurt myself
Yeah, and I just made you up to hurt myself
I just made you up to hurt myself
Yeah, and I just made you up to hurt myself

And it worked
Yes it did!

There is no you, there is only me
There is no you, there is only me
There is no fucking you, there is only me
There is no fucking you, there is only me

Only
Only
Only
Only

Well the tiniest little dot caught my eye and it turned out to be a scab
And I had this funny feeling, like I just knew it's something bad

I just couldn't leave it alone
I've been picking at that scab
It was a doorway trying to seal itself shut
But I climbed through

Now I'm somewhere I am not supposed to be
And I can see things I know I really shouldn't see
And now I know why now, now I know why
Things aren't as pretty, on the inside

There is no you, there is only me
There is no you, there is only me
There is no fucking you, there is only me

Yes. Very fast travel at first, then slowing down and seeing the sights when I feel like it.

I've had the noisy electrical return several times, and one time I landed in my body with such a thump that I lost my breath for a moment.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
Can someone please tell me if this is an astral experience, or what the hell it was:

I was lying down with the intention of astral projecting, but just relaxing with my eyes closed. I then lose my awareness and enter into a trance state.

The next thing i know is im sorta half out of my physical body, and my physical body seems slightly translucent. I am viewing from a place just outside of my skull, or upon my shoulder, very hard to pinpoint exactly where. I feel this incredible energy rushing up through my body, and something explodes inside my head. It feels like this energy is now shooting out the top of my head in a fountain that looks like this Egyptian headdress: [link to www.sciencemuseum.org.uk]

I can't begin to describe how much pleasure and ecstacy i felt at that moment, it was like a sexual orgasm x 1000, and all over the body/mind.

At the culmination of this experience, i am suddenly immersed in a sort of sphere of bright light and colour, somewhat 3D information/fractal like quality to it. It is all around me. I am saying to myself, "Slow down! What is this?!" over and over.. as i say this, the whole scene stops morphing about and pauses, becoming completely stationary..

A mirror image of myself appears infront of me. It winks at me in a brotherly kind of way, very loving. At this moment i am pulled back into my physical body, then immediately thrown out again in a out-of-body experience.. im quite bamboozled at this point, so i just drift up to the end of my bed, examine the Jimi Hendrix poster there, then i black out/wake up..

What i want to know is, what was that sphere of light i was immersed in? It seemed very similar to a DMT trip, same feeling and amazing colours/information everywhere.

Appreciate all comments. thanks! hf

I have a friend who had a similar experience. He was in Mexico on vacation, reading a book by Carlos Castenadas, and as he read the very last period at the end of the very last sentence of the book, he says that a lightning bolt of energy ran up his spine and out the top of his head. He said that there was a picture on the wall opposite him of an Aztec warrior and that the warrior was wearing plumed headgear that reminded him of what he had just experienced.

Wild stuff.

not necessarily. astral projection is consciously projecting from your body and using intention to go whereever you want to go- in this world, in the dreamier worlds, or out into the universe.

lucid dreaming is realizing you are in a dream and controlling/playing with it. but the degree of consciousness is still less than astral projection, because you found yourself already in this dream, and you realized it was a dream.

Nothing bad can happen.

When you actually astral project, you can not experience fear. You instantly become one with everything. Its a big woosh, and then you are experiencing your higher self. You should record your thoughts when you come back, so its easier to remember later.

This is 100% BS. I project daily and you definitely can and WILL experience fear and there are dangers involved.

by whose standards? yours?
there is no right or wrong way in these matters.
there are only lessons learned, intuition exercised, and moral/ethical integrity and courage built upon a foundation of truth.

your truth is different than mine, but they sound so sweet when you string them together.

danger is discerned by each person, but fear is an enemy that will teach you just as much as it will hurt you. right and wrong are obsolete, the only thing that matters is where you are now.

god has always lead me, whether i knew it or not. he controls the car, but he sits in the back seat and listens and whispers while i assume to drive.
i appreciate you insight, but i am confused as to how you seem to be disagreeing?
god has shown me my path, and i am constantly evaluating how i am walking. god and i are best friends, not just master and servant. he has shown me the way, but he is always reminding me, he walks it WITH me too.

This is lovely. This is my experience, too. A Very Best Friend, always there, constantly whispering encouragement and words of love...like a doting father whose child can do no wrong. The experience was life-changing and unforgettable.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
2 times that I am aware of...first when I was 4 years old and having my tonsils taken out. I was told to count backwards from 10 to 1...gads I could hardly count to 10 forwards. I couldn't believe they were makes me work so hard. LOL...Then I just popped out. I looked down and could see the tops of the lights and people standing around the table. Then I saw my brother (he had just come out of the other operating room before me I kind of sat on the end of the bed as they were wheeling him out. I remember looked down at the step on the end of the bed. It was silver metal with little diamond shapes indented into it. Then I found myself in our room were our mother was waiting. I thought it was great fun! :)

I have a feeling I may have done it other times because I used to have to have a ton of blankets on my bed when I would go to sleep because I felt like I may float out of my bed when sleeping. The other time was when I was kissing my boyfriend goodnight. I was tired and had my eyes closed. I thought "why can I see the top of the door?" Then I realized what was going on and it threw me back in.

I didn't see any other beings when I was floating just the earth people that I was watching...And didn't see any cord any where.

My great aunt I have been told could do it at will. Back in the 1920/30s when they lived in Chicago she said she would keep reciting the Lord's Prayer over and over again. Then take every step in her mind just as if she was walking to go to where she wanted to go to. She would even ride on the street cars to get to her destination. It is said that She was able to appear to people...she was very cool. I always loved to visit Aunt Ida! :)

Did you encounter different entities? Is it true there is a silver thread connected to the solar plex? What happens if you die while traveling? I would appreciate REAL accounts. charlie
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 762208

yes. spontaneously since I was a child. It is real. Many , many other dimensions exist ....countless worlds etc.

since i have never died,...i have no idea what would happen except ..i would assume that the link between me and my body would be broken and i go to the 'white light' and all that.

other worlds/dimensions...those that can detect your presence can be hostile toward you and will drive you out ...this happened to me several times when I began asking questions..i was very surprised that I could interact people in a few places i went to. Telepathic communication is common in other worlds.

time travel happens also. I never learned to control it...

there are rules. many rules that cannot be broken. You are never alone nor do you have the 'right' to do what you please...ie. you will not be permitted to gain financially from it...nor negatively effect another person.

i've never seen the 'silver cord' ...i've heard of it..but I've never seen it.

travel is unlimited at speeds well beyond the speed of light. ...it is extremely frightening for the first 5-10 times... if you feel fear you cannot travel far...your fear limits all things , especially obe.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
god has always lead me, whether i knew it or not. he controls the car, but he sits in the back seat and listens and whispers while i assume to drive.
i appreciate you insight, but i am confused as to how you seem to be disagreeing?
god has shown me my path, and i am constantly evaluating how i am walking. god and i are best friends, not just master and servant. he has shown me the way, but he is always reminding me, he walks it WITH me too.

This is lovely. This is my experience, too. A Very Best Friend, always there, constantly whispering encouragement and words of love...like a doting father whose child can do no wrong. The experience was life-changing and unforgettable.

it's when god is your best friend, you see all religions are right and wrong, you see art and music and love and life all a reflection of living in god- you start to understand that that certain song you love so much is just god reaching out to you from a different source. you start to believe in this world again, because in every dirty gutter and beautiful landscape, god grins out at you like a silly game of hide and seek.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
Yes, I have several times.

Yes, you encounter several different kinds of entities, positive and negative, human and non-human.

No, I have never personally seen the silver cord, but most astral travelers do not.

You cannot die while traveling so your last question can't be answered.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 710885

I travel with the Astral cord. It is Silver and it is my life line with the Universe. It is there for me, I know I can travel, I have, and choose not to. That I have the tool and know I can use it is all I need right now.
You can not "die" while taveling, but you should not fall asleep.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
Nothing bad can happen.

When you actually astral project, you can not experience fear. You instantly become one with everything. Its a big woosh, and then you are experiencing your higher self. You should record your thoughts when you come back, so its easier to remember later.

DNA

This is 100% BS. I project daily and you definitely can and WILL experience fear and there are dangers involved.

Then you're not doing it right.

by whose standards? yours?
there is no right or wrong way in these matters.
there are only lessons learned, intuition exercised, and moral/ethical integrity and courage built upon a foundation of truth.

your truth is different than mine, but they sound so sweet when you string them together.

danger is discerned by each person, but fear is an enemy that will teach you just as much as it will hurt you. right and wrong are obsolete, the only thing that matters is where you are now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 759487

lol. funny discussion above.

travelling can be VERY fearful. the poster that says you just find yourself in a utopian spiritual state is not having the same experience.

certainly there are places that one can go ...or enter into a different state of mind that can match that...

but to willfully choose and travel...that is a DIFFERENT THING.

the speed of it alone is beyond description...like a roller coaster at warp 10.

as far as 'danger'. THERE ARE PERCEIVED DANGERS. but..i never found a danger that could do any lasting damage...

the closest I came to 'danger' was when i was on a world...talking with some people, which as i said before was very unusual, and asking them questions...and what looked like 'guards' recognized that i did not belong...and pursued me. but.. i am very, very, fast in that state...but THESE GUYS HAD SOME WAY OUT WEAPONS..AND THEY FIRED AT ME...they were like percussion guns or? like a shock grenade of some kind that had an effect on me...WOa...it was scary!!!...but i hit hyper speed..lol..and came back.

and no shit. when I opened my physical eyes...i swear I could feel them...that they had followed me...but they could not do anything to me...lol...

i personally don't have any fear of death...being obe so many thousands of times does that to a person...

i don't do it anymore except spontaneously...but usually there is a guide (angel) there and there's a reason for it.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
Alright - here's my bit:

I've had OOBEs since I was a kid, along with constant precognition (usually at the nearly useless span of about 10-15 minutes, but clear enough that I get confused about what time I'm in), and have really "done" astral travel.

There is no "silver thread", and it's nothing like walking around (or flying, or w/e) in real life. This is hippie bullshit to help cancer patients displace their pain.

IRL: When you are harmed or get lost you snap the fuck back into your body (hopefully). It is intensely violent and hurts like hell, but with a couple hours rest everything's fine again. If, at that moment, you can't get back into your body then you get tossed around like a ragdoll for an arbitrary amount of time and then proceed to snap back violently.

You don't walk around, your astral body is nothing like a human body, and you are not limited in terms of space and time like you are in a physical body. You're likely to be overwhelmed once you get there, as everything is quite blurry and disordered and it's difficult to function until you get used to it. One is not limited to the physical senses, so there's no "visual" analog. You don't "see yourself walking down the hall to peep on your sister" because you don't have eyes and exist in a space where every other person is a cumulation of themselves (i.e. as they might be at all ages, all moments, etc).

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
Nothing to fear with astral travel, it takes lots of practice, but the experience is extremely rewarding.

The thing that usually freaks me out is sleep paralysis.

Those of you who have encountered sleep paralysis know what I'm talking about. It's like being stuck between dimensions, a struggle to animate the body and to regain human consciousness. A very big mind fuck at first, but it gets easier to deal with each time.

Astral sight is very bizarre. When you are seeing through the Ajna, you get a VERY convincing feeling that you are seeing with your real 2 eyes, until you watch the solid reality you are so convinced is real glitch out.

Experiencing holographic 'visions' and other-worldly noise is quite common. I have also heard the most beautiful symphonies playing in these states, its absolutely amazing and I encourage drawn to out of body experiences to practice.

Really, all it takes is a steady intent to learn and an open mind, free of resistance and you will start exploring the Aether.

Re: So has anyone here REALLY done astral travel?
" I felt defensless against the ravenous demons"

Thanks, I'll NEVER attempt it now.

Please don't.

Demons can act on the soulplane, just as they can act on the physical plane.

Travelling within the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ is your only protection.

Spiritual battles are made manifest on the soulplane.

Yes, I agree. I've heard the voice of the Lord in a spiritual battle I was in, either Jesus or a warring angel. His voice was the scariest voice I have ever heard in my life, if you would be on the negative receiving end that is. His voice sounded like a cross between thunder and a whooshing sound and a little electronic vibe to it also. Very weird voice, not like a human voice at all. I always think about that voice and how authoritative it was.

Once, when I was coming back to my body to wake up, the Lord let me see this demon standing by my bed. It looked almost exactly like the Ringwraiths of Lord of the Rings. So yeah, this stuff is real and not to be taken lightly.

very true.
similar to your story, once i was lying in bed, not asleep, but relaxed, and god showed me a glimpse of the demons under my bed. they began to crawl out from underneath, hissing, trying to feed into a childlike fear i used to have. i remember the weight shifting on the bed and i astrally projected out of my body, and jumped onto these beings. i was violent, though i am not a violent person. i was enraged at what these beings had done to others. i did not know why i was angry, but it felt like a divine anger i did not call my own but was bestowed through me, as if i were a tool of god. i jumped onto these creatures and began to throttle them, toss them away. i began to chase them, dozens of them turned into thousands, and they were running for their "lives". i felt another presence there with me, and it was god, and we took the form of two wolves, and together we bit into them and slaughtered them, and chased the remaining creatures into the depths of beyond.

i woke up shaking. i am not a hateful or rage-prone person. i deal with my anger logically and peacefully. but in this dream i was overcome with something righteous, something that turned me into a white wolf, something that cast judgment and asked me to carry out what needed to be done. and i remember my jaws crunching bones and black sludge blood splattering. and i remember the glory of god scattering, like someone said earlier, the evil like cockroaches. when i was thrown back into my body, i woke up shaken and it took me a few days to settle this event down in my mind.

god is incredible.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 786296

Yes, He definitely is incredible. Do you recognize Jesus as God?

I have to clarify something earlier about the voice I heard. It got me to thinking what that whooshing sound was that I heard, and the verse in Revelation came to mind of Jesus' voice and what it sounds like. It says this in Revelation 1:15 - "His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters." That's exactly what that whooshing sound was like, the sound of rushing waters. I think I might've actually heard Jesus Christ's voice. If so, I am very honored to have heard that. It was truly amazing.

I am not going to have a pissing contest over Astral Travel.
In my meditation, I used the Universal Life Force of the silver thread. It became my spine becoming me. I left my apartment and I left the building. I felt like a newborn. It was amazing. The silver thread is the method of meditation I used to take me out. It can be there if you choose to apply it. It can also be Gold. I saw both but became silver. Good Luck.

This is pretty much the type of experiences that I have had.
One of the most interesting aspects was the ability to travel in different positions at will and to not feel out of sorts. I mean that I could travel upright, upside down, etc.

The normal rules don't apply, but you don't perceive that the different positions are in any way abnormal.

I hope I'm making sense.

I never had any encounters with negative or scary entities, but I always began with prayer.

Another interesting aspect is the very frequent deja vu feeelings in my everyday life. Like oh, I've been here before, that sort of thing.

I was never really interested in traveling to outer space, my favorite places were ancient ruins.
