LOL Eireann~ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17431247 I'm in Ohio and we are under a winter storm warning, it is really bad out, and those winds are blowing hard and headed north it seems. Three days supplies will get you through until help can make it to you if your out of power and snowed in. Just saying. |

After surviving a near-miss when Halley’s Comet failed to be pulled into Earth’s orbit in 1986 as predicted, and avoiding the ruinous effects of Y2K, Earth’s inhabitants again face the prospect of a calamitous end of the world. [link to www.redcross.ca] I fucking hate the media. They have destroyed the English language. There is no such thing as a near-miss. Either you miss, or you hit. "The plane nearly hit the tall building before turning sharply." I hate the media. Hate it! Sorry, OP. I'm finished with my grammar nazi rant. Irregardless, you should still prepare. :D |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18713240 United States 12/20/2012 07:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well here in Long Island, NY we just got a call from county warning us of bad weather coming this way and to expect winds up to 60mph from 3.00am to 10.00am and to take the usual precautions due to possible falling trees etc. Only other time ever we got a warning like this was just before Sandy hit. Not saying it's alarming - but interesting nevertheless. Having said that, no-one around here is really concerned about this whole Dec 21 thing. I just got back from the gym and had a good workout, and usual crowd was there, no-one even talking about this date. but was surprised to have received this weather alert on my voicemail. Think it will be just another day aside from this strong storm we are going to get |

After surviving a near-miss when Halley’s Comet failed to be pulled into Earth’s orbit in 1986 as predicted, and avoiding the ruinous effects of Y2K, Earth’s inhabitants again face the prospect of a calamitous end of the world. "The Red Cross urges Canadians to be ready to take care of themselves and their families for 72 hours in any emergency," said Denis Dion, national director of disaster management with the Canadian Red Cross. "Two-thirds of Canadians say they have not taken steps to prepare for a disaster." Various organizations are predicting the end of the world December 21, with scenarios including geomagnetic reversal, collision with an interplanetary object, destruction by a supernova, and global annihilation as predicted by the Mesoamerican calendar. "While NASA scientists assure us the world will not end on Friday, disasters can and do happen every day in Canada," adds Dion. "The Red Cross encourages Canadians to prepare for more commonplace emergencies like house fires, natural disasters and epidemics." cont'd: [link to www.redcross.ca] Seems to be the official site that one.
