Anonymous Coward User ID: 13550363 India 03/31/2012 01:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | SOLAR CLIMATE CHANGE COULD CAUSE ROUGHER SPACE WEATHER- A predicted weakening in solar activity and the Sun's magnetic fields would cause an increase in space radiation, Galactic Cosmic Rays, and more damaging space weather events according to a new study. Quoting: Hugh M Eye "Recent research shows that the space age has coincided with a period of unusually high solar activity, called a grand maximum. Isotopes in ice sheets and tree rings tell us that this grand solar maximum is one of 24 during the last 9,300 years and suggest the high levels of solar magnetic field seen over the space age will reduce in future. This decline will cause a reduction in sunspot numbers and explosive solar events, but those events that do take place could be more damaging." [link to www.spacedaily.com] If you read this post , it reflects what AA was mentioning. Sunspots will reduce but the events will be powerful and damaging. I would also like to include the comment which i found interesting on this article "Solar Storm Cycle has always been predicted with a NET INCREASE in frequency and amplitude...at least here at BSM Research Associates. Not so NASA, which in 2009 predicted that upcoming cycle 24 would be one of the mildest on record. NOTE: "Although its peak is still four years away, a new active period of Earth-threatening solar storms will be the weakest since 1928, predicts an international panel of experts led by NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center and funded by NASA..." REAL SPACE PHYSICS FROM BSM RESEARCH: Its best to keep in mind that the Sun is slowing in its equatorial rotation; increasing in solar irradiance...the solar storm frequency and intensities of which..will be INCREASING as a function of time...NOT decreasing. BOTTOM LINE: NASA is WRONG...again...AND THESE ARE THE TAX RECEIVER folks who CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR EVIDENCE OF LIFE ON A PLANET WITHOUT A SIGNIFICANT, DEFLECTION FORCE FIELD; A MAGNETIC FIELD (MARS)." |

[link to www.spacedaily.com] ocnce again Hugh this is why i have been so into GCR's. i have been following several scientists and their studies of them and the possiblity that the sun's heliosphere might be shrinking. hearing that this might create an explosive effect does not sound good. if we just let that sink in a little. we are sitting thinking the sun is growing more quiet and kablum! and things like this [link to www.spaceweather.com] either this is one luky person to capture this..being one who has been trying to get the perfect still image of lightning an still been unable...WOW SPRITE SEASON BEGINS: The first sprites of summer are starting to appear in the skies of North America. The strange thing is, summer is almost three months away. "Sprite season is beginning early this year," says Thomas Ashcraft, who photographed these specimens last night from his observatory in New Mexico summer i live in NYC and it is still march on my calendar. WTF [link to www.spaceweather.com] space weather page for MARCH 31, 2012! so it is now NORMAL for sumer spaceweather to happen in early spring. please did spring not just start back on the 21st-22nd? and then we did just have another crack in our magnetosphere the other day. which did let in solar winds ....and anything eles which was inbound! Quoting: Hugh M Eye Huge Sunquakes Triggered by Solar Eruptions- [link to www.theepochtimes.com] [link to www.youtube.com] More on Sunquakes from Dr. Sergei Zharkov interview: The first observation of a sunquake was reported in the late 1990s. During the last decade it has become well established that explosions in the Sun’s atmosphere, known as solar flares, can create sunquakes through the impact of powerful beams of particles which travel into the Sun. This new study shows that eruptions of material known as coronal mass ejections are also able to produce sunquakes. The authors studied an eruption that took place on 15 February 2011 and found that sunquakes 1000 times more powerful than the Great East Japan Earthquake, March 2011, were triggered at the two ends of the erupting rope of magnetic field. Of course the big flares and CME's were the draw for me, which started with new knowledge of EMP's and then learning what a CME could also do. I want to thank each and everyone of you that update this thread constantly, it is such a learning tool and you all need tons of koodoos!! Tesla did know this! maybe we need to look into this freq. 6-8 hz. what will be the next discovery that was forgotten from long ago! i love your mind Hugh!!!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13079166 [link to halpha.nso.edu] -- Great catch AC66, I saw the prominence and couldn't believe it came from a measly B8.9 flare from the over-achieving AR1444. It looks more like a prominence eruption, but after checking SDO it's definitely from the B-flare. [link to www.lmsal.com] :largepromNW: |

Some of the images were absolutely awful-looking due to the methods of subtraction used. At this point I have no details on how many new objects were discovered; I'm hoping NASA will give a full-blown press conference when the data has been reviewed by the Minor Planet Center. Anyway, here's a few pics to give you a flavor of it. 3 Potential KBO's :kbos: Asteroid "Bob" (maybe) :asteroid Hugh: Asteroid of GLP Doom :asteroidbob: |
